Why is this so difficult for fans? Every year the team will be different with ups and downs. ISU is in a position to land a 3-6 seed in the tourney and all people do is complain. 3-4 years ago, you would have **** your pant for a season like this. This team doesn't deserve to be called lazy, selfish, weak minded, etc. They deserve your support so stop crying and give them that.

Agree with this. I do get angry with this group but then i realize the reason i get so angry is because my expectations are so high. 5 years ago i would have died for this type of problems

We were picked 5th in the conference, now Texas, KSU, they are underachieving. ISU not really.

That's a terrible way to justify losses. We were picked 10th by USA Today last year, should fans be happy if we finished 8th?

Fans and people around the program knew this team had the talent to compete for a conference title and the Final Four. As I've said before, we are still very good. But we aren't ready to compete for a conference title until we get our defense and road issues under control.

Probably because even with a good seed, it doesn't look like we'd win any more than 2 games in the tourney based on how these neutral/road games have been going
Yeah, getting to the Sweet 16 sucks.

USA TOday or Conference coaches...hmmmm....who's opinion would carry more weight when predicting the conference....I wonder....Better not rack my brain to hard, it's apples to apples really.

I love having a relevant basketball team. People across the country like watching them. Our fans need to take a chill pill. It sucks that we are not going to dethrone Kansas, but who really cares in the long run. College basketball is all about the NCAA tourney. If you don't think we have a team that can still go deep in the tourney, then you are stupid. Our seed matters some, but not as much as some years. Our team is good enough to play as a lower seed, because we have the talent to play with anybody. I think I would be more scared to play a 14 seed with a chip on their shoulder than play a 9 seed that has struggled in a big conference. The key is to be playing well as we enter the tourney and then let the chips fall as they may. Too much drama now is counter productive.

I agree with almost everything you said. However, I disagree with the bolded. Having been at ISU when LE won his two Big 12 titles, it was beyond special. And unless you make the final 4, I'd rather have the memory of a regular season conference title than a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 loss. And to knock KU off their pedestal would be even more memorable.

That wasn't an subtle shot at Thomas, I believe he is 1/10 from 3 in his last 5 games, hence the 10% comment.

You are right. It wasn't subtle.

You aren't getting what I am saying. If you said what you just said - which I actually guessed where you were going - it would be okay. But instead you contort a fact without all of the detail so it is put out there in a misleading way. Maybe you didn't intend it that way, but that is what goes on here often intentionally just to support one "side" of things and many other posters read it and take it as fact, rather than just one contorted stat.

Why are there so many sides to it anyway? Aren't we all Cyclones?
