you better pray *if* they beat us they go on to win the tourney because if they lose to anyone he's just gonna come back and say "see how much ISU sucks, even ABC Tech could beat us". Ugh.

Yea. He's pretty unbearable. He goes on and on about how deep (shocker) and tall they are. About a month ago he was talking about trying to get tickets to the game. I asked, "Are you sure you want to subject yourself to coming to a game at Hilton?". He responds, "Oh, Iowa will win. They're the better team".

And then he proceeds to talk about how he doesn't follow basketball outside of the Big 10. Well of course he thinks Iowa is the better team if he doesn't know anything about our team. I'm sure he hasn't watched 1 game.

He's also always talking about how he suffered through the Lickliter era as a student and so now he's just loving that they're good. Basically, he thinks they've arrived as a program.

So... yea. It's going to be a fun week next week for me if we win.

I went ahead and stopped reading that article when they said Olaseni and Woodbury were combining for "All - Conference" type numbers.

I love how it says DingleBerry and Olaseni are putting up "all conference" type numbers. LOL. I guess 7'1'' woodys 5 pts 3 Rebs a game is impressive.. Hahahaha hilarious.

You know its sad when you have to combine two players numbers to get all conference type numbers lol. We have 4 starters putting up all conference type numbers.

I opened this thinking it was going to be butthurt over some minor perceived slight, but that preview is a total joke!

Same here. I was expecting more whining about some super minor slight. But the only places I'd expect to see something that tilted would be a U of I AD press release or an article in the Daily Iowan.

Like, it doesn't belittle ISU even, it just barely even mentions us.

I enjoy that we are all so skeptical about our own fanbase that we think anyone who posts a complaint MUST be reading into things way to far or is seeing something so minor that they are ridiculous for noticing. I assume the first post was someone just making that assumption.

So basically it takes 10 of their players to do what we can do with 5 or 6 of our guys. Not something to brag about guys.

Sounds like they have 5 Lebron caliber starters and 5 Kobe's on the bench.

Should be next to impossible to beat the best team in the history of college basketball.

5 Durants and 5 Paul Georges. Please.

They've got six guys capable of going off for 20 points on any given night (Marble, White, Basabe, Uthoff, Gesell, McCabe) and three more capable of getting 15 (Olaseni, Clemmons and Jok). Makes it pretty tough to shut the offense down; I mean, you're not going to just ignore Marble and White if they're having an off night when Gesell and McCabe are hot.

It has made the 23rd-ranked Hawkeyes one of the deepest and most dangerous teams in the country.

Really? Deepest, maybe, although a lot of the depth has been playing against the Hawks incredibly weak schedule in CHA. I don't buy the dangerous part at all. They may beat ISU, but there are a lot more dangerous teams out there than Iowa.

"Dangerous" isn't generally a term used to refer to MSU/Duke/Kansas/etc. It's usually used to refer to teams in the next tier that could challenge. Iowa definitely belongs in that discussion, as does ISU.

Lafeseter rhodes 54pts. Grayer 23 pts terry woods 10pts > 6 hawks scoring double figures in 87'.

Niang, Ejim, Kane, Hogue, Long all capable of scoring 25+ pts. Thomas, Morris, Sdw 20 pts. So many weapons who do you guard? Not hard to play this game. Actually a lot harder with ISU. With Iowa its easy Marble.

TM, usually you're spot on, but this is insane.

Iowa has faced two defenses in KenPom's Top 50 this year and hasn't scored over a point per possession against either (Villanova is #3...i'll give you that) They're just beating up on defenses that they physically outmatch. Olaseni is shooting 6-17 against Top 100 teams this year.

For reference, ISU's team last year only scored less than a point per possession TWICE total in all of conference and NCAA tournament play and one of those was our 3rd matchup against KU. Now that's a dangerous offense.

At most I would say you have a dangerous offense against the Fairleigh Dickinson's of the workd.
