Can I see the actual payouts? This is the normal spin from big ten teams like Iowa. We were told for years how much more they were making than the big twelve ( from iowa fans and others) Oops, then the actual data was released and the big twelve was paid more per team.

I'm sure the big ten will get a good bump. I will just wait to see the actual pay outs after hearing a bunch of bs over the last few years.

Not after next year when the B1G inks its new TV deal. Estimates are upwards of $45 mill per school, nearly doubling what they make now and blowing away every other conference. I'm sure UT could wiggle its way around taking a lesser split as a new member given its profile.

None of this really matters. With the GoR in place no ACC teams are going anywhere, no Big 12 teams are going anywhere. Those things are solid and I think your tinker-toy theory is a bit simplistic and unrealistic.

UT has zero interest in joining a "northern" conference...and it is already making 40+ million per season with its Tier 3 added to its conference payout. Further, as Bowlsby has laid out, the B12 payouts (just Tier 1/2 plus bowls/playoffs) is going to this the 40+ million range by itself in the early 20's...so add UT's 15 million for LHN on to that. UT also needs to be in a league with other Texas schools and with OU, this is what allows it to dominate recruiting and fandom throughout most of Texas...a demographic essential for the University.

And I'd bet good money, Gonzo, that B1G payouts from the network are under 40 million in 2017. Would you like to take that bet? Finally, the B12 doesn't need to outearn the B1G/SEC, it just needs to continue out earning the ACC and Pac 12...and make sure its OU's/UT's outearn or roughly equal the B1G/SEC schools. As of now, it looks like the B12 will have zero problem achieving either of those goals.

There were a few media reports awhile back that the ACC GoR was only valid for 2 years and then required creation of an ACC Network to be automatically renewed. If that is the case, the only discussion about realignment anytime soon should be centered around the ACC. We know the Big 12 GoR is solid for the length of the television contract unless disputed in court.

You realize you guys are just getting hawk fans all excited that something negative could still happen to isu. All they have seen is isu growing.

Bigger university, increasing fan base, beating iowa in both bb and fb, adding on to facilities that are in some ways better than iowa's....

This hope of the big twelve dissolving is their last ditch hope. See all the excitement they post with in this thread. Makes me laugh.

Kansas football would fit in well with the caliber of football in the B1G. But it will not happen. No TV sets.

The Big 12 started earning more per school after it signed its current media deal in 2012. Of course they're going to make more with that deal than the B1G schools make off a deal signed in 2006. The only real surprise is that the Big 12 schools were making just barely more than B1G schools after that new contract.

There's no spin, BS or doubt about it. This will be the last major college or pro sports property on the market this decade. ESPN and Fox are going to kill each other to get it. And Delaney is a genius at making money. It's going to be a massive deal. Sorry if that chafes you down there.

Sure.... and you and every other Hawk fan told us how many millions your network was making and it was still above the big 12. You lost some fire after you were proven wrong of course.

Now you are telling me hawk fans didn't say that and they knew the big 12 is bringing in more money?

Please. Don't try to sell that here.

I'd gladly take that bet. The conference projects $35+ mill per school in the last year of the current contract before the new deal is even signed.

Oops. I guess I was wrong. B1G still outearns Big 12 in TV money even with its old deal in place. Ouch. The only reason the Big 12's per school payout looks good is because it only cuts the $$$ up 10 ways.

Most of the conference revenue comes from TV deals. Isn't that like a deck of cards? Doesn't the broadcast industry seem like it is bound to implode? The NCAA tournament was available in its entirety through a mobile app on my phone. It seems like huge changes are underway. Can't blame to conferences for taking the money and running, but it is hard to imagine that the broadcast money will be sustained to the end of these contracts with the rapid shift to other forms of delivery.

Lol. See you still don't get it.

The per team payout is all that matters. Of course you bring in more money as a conference. You have many more schools.

I'm glad you posted that. It's the same bs u tried to sell last year.

Right. And the B1G per team payout is still more than the Big 12.

Talking smack that the B12 deal is better than the B1G deal that was signed back when many thought what the B1G was doing was a bad idea and going to crash and burn?

In addition, the markets that have been added since then? You can't honestly think that the deal is going to be close to the B12's after negotiations are complete.

Do you intentionally set yourself up to look silly? Please tell me it's intentional.

We have lots of TVs, they just aren't used for watching KU football.

The fact of the matter is that the Big Ten would add KU because they would be able to get good returns on BTN in Kansas City (2.5mil) and Wichita (.5mil). I doubt they would invite Kansas State though.

I only post this to show the impact of conference revenue on a typical member's budget. I wonder what happens when we go to ala charte tv where subscribers can buy individual events. My sense is that we are currently living in a bubble supported by platforms that won't exist in the near future.

LOL

According to Forbes 2013 as I stated big twelve made more per school not even counting 3rd tier money the big twelve schools bring in. In other words they made a lot more. You can Google it. Took me about 2 seconds. For some reason the link won't paste

Oh you little hawk fans. That's why we don't believe anything you post. You always try to hide the fact you aren't comparing the same numbers.

Did you sell out again? Too funny. Better get those ticket promotions going.

For 2014 the Big 12 payout per school averaged under $26 million.

The B1G payout per school averaged $27 million.
