Yes, and you can tell me someone who you think is douchey and I can find a good deed they have done. Different people have different opinions. I’m not a fan of Cuban in general, but that’s me.
Good point, I can respect that

They aren't moving to Vegas.
My son that lives in Dallas sent me a link that walked you through what the new ownership group might be doing. They are big into gambling casinos, so they purchased the Mavs as a way to use the franchise as the centerpiece of a new arena and casino complex that they wanted to build in Dallas. The state legislature in Texas did not pass the gambling bill making it legal. So the plan now is to tank the team, and either get the state to allow gambling for them to stay. If not they will move the team to Vegas, they know the NBA will not allow them to leave the 4th largest metro area now, but if attendance goes down to nothing, they can then tell the league that the market does not have the fan support and the move will be allowed. For them its a win/win, they either get the casino to be built in the metro plex or move the team to Vegas where they own a number of casinos.

I think you're just describing the plot to the movie Major League.

I am well aware of the DFW casino/gambling initiative and existing resistance to it by TX State legislators. The existing resistance will likely be alleviated over the next few years. If not, the new owners re-sell the team.

Trading Luka not part of a tanking scheme by Nico H and the new owners to eventually move the franchise to Vegas. It is a BS conspiracy theory. That said, the trade was an idiotic move by Nico based on an overreaction to Luka's conditioning process (which can fixed) and Nico being overly infatuated with Anthony Davis.

Yet he was still one of the top 5 players in the league. So, either it wasn’t as bad as the hit piece is making it out to be, or the rest of the league’s conditioning is equally as bad, or conditioning doesn’t really matter that much. Which one is most likely?

He's still very young and can mostly get by on talent. I just think that Dallas management's thinking was that he could follow the path of players like Darrick Coleman, Michael Olowakandi, Joe Barry Carrol, or Michael Beasley.

I wouldn't have traded him for AD but I guess if I squint I can sort of see what the thinking was.

I included Joe Barry Carrol because I'm entertained by the nickname Joe Barely Cares.

Well this is the post of day.

Thinking a guy who has made 5 NBA 1st teams in 6 seasons with 2 conference finals and 1 NBA finals appearance under the age of 25 might be on the path of those guys is wild. By you and their front office.

I know. He's better than those guys and I agreed that I wouldn't have made the trade. But if you look at it - Darrick Coleman, Joe Barry Carroll and I guess I could have included JR Rider had really good stats for their first 5 or 6 years. That's when the fall-off happened for them. Yes, they were a year or 2 older after those 5 or 6 years but it happened with them.

I'm really not disagreeing as much as I'm playing devil's advocate.

Cuban “coincidentally” left shark tank when he sold the team. If you pay attention to his deals, A LOT were ones where he said that they would sell the stuff at Mavs games. Well, of course, he gets to double dip. They charge the company for space to sell the merch and then he gets a cut from the business.

He was a donkey, would insult the other sharks, and even pout if he he didnt get his way. I figured he would be difficult to deal with.
I will keep it out of the cave, Cuban knows Trump is an ahole con man.

It's not entirely no fault of his own. There are a lot of rumors that management has become really frustrated with his lack of commitment to training and conditioning. He has developed the nickname of Hookah Doncic.
They would have had to pay him a $345 million/ five year max contract if they hadn’t traded him. That’s a lot for some who allegedly doesn’t take his conditioning seriously.

New owners were enamored with Davis. They wanted him to win now and that’s why they didn’t shop around. And they didn’t want to pay Luka the super max, so now was the time to deal him.

It’s just crazy the NBA rules means a trade that Luka didn’t ask for resulted in him losing the ability to get a super max deal now. So he lost roughly $100m due to no fault of his own.
And I'm guessing he is still richer than 99.99% of CF.

About 36 hours ago, Cuban offered to pay in full the cash price for this man's liver transplant that Anthem was deeming "not medically necessary"
Anthem reversed their stance about 24 hours later after the story went viral

Good story good ending but Kirkland the transplant recipient is correct Anthem was slow rolling hoping he would die. Wonder how much he has already spent in uncovered treatments that he mentioned in the article.

Yeah, that isn't happening.

Since the trade, Davis and Gafford have sustained injuries that will keep them out of action for 4 weeks or more. Lively was injured prior to the trade and he may not be available for the rest of the regular season. So their top 3 bigs are now out for most, if not all, of the remaining regular season.

The trade also now makes Kyrie their only lead premium ball handler and the first example of that role overload was exhibited last night with him playing 44 minutes in an OT game. And he is playing with a bulging disk.

They will be lucky to even make the play-in games.
You are correct on all points
