Publicly you'd have to go with Def Leppard, ACDC, etc...for no red blooded American male would want to fess up to rocking out to Belinda Carlisle "Heaven is a Place on Earth" or Tiffany "I Think We're Alone Now". (Eyes dart around work space nervously checking to make sure nobody saw this post):nerd6bs:

New Kids might be 40 now - they have been around the block. I noticed no one mentioned Madonna or cited David Bowie much.

All fat and nasty with bags under their eyes, smoking cigarettes, living in a trailer with their boyfriends.:laugh8kb: But their hair is still pretty.

OFOTC - It didn't matter for the Rolling Stones - they look like skeletons and they just roll on like a stone.

Mick Jagger looked like the Cryptkeeper at the Super Bowl last year, with his midriff revealing his wrinkled 70-year-old stomach and his flabby triceps flapping about while he clapped to the beat. At least their tunes are good.

My one roomy loved Billy Idol "Dancing With Myself" and "Mony Mony" on the way to Granddaddy's (OK that dates me as I bet most of you don't knwo where that was!)

My other roomy loved Triumph "Fight the Good Fight"

When I got to Ames in 1981, the same guy owned Granddaddy's, Cave-In and that bar on Chamberlain Street (changed names at least five times while I was at ISU). You'd buy one large glass mug that was good at all three bars on different nights; can't drink PBR to this day as that's what was on tap...

Triumph and Rush both played Vet's Memorial within two months of each other and KGGO seemingly used the same commercial for both bands. It'd start out with, "CANADIAN POWER TRIO _____" will be rocking...

Good times...

Any early R.E.M. as well...So. Central Rain comes to mind. Anyone else see them in C.Y. Stephens in the mid 80's?

.... excellent question.... wish I could remember the question.... eeerrrrrr , I mean answer...

.... I vividly remember going to C.Y. Stephens for the concert ... awesome acoustics except, unfortunately, Michael Stipes voice cracked on an accopello(SP) solo....I had just discovered the advantages of a "Graphics" bong and the Pizza Pit delivery number so I can only place the semester somewhere between fall of 83 until somewhere around fall of 84... I KNOW I WAS THEiR PHYSICALLY THOUGH... (*the ticket stub is still in my parents attic somewheres*).... :rofl8yi:

Winger's 17 & Poision's Talk Dirty to Me. I love it when these 2 come on The Bus, driving along and the radio get's blasted. Ahhhhh....memories of cruising on a Friday night.

Oh, it may have been 90-91 timeframe when it came out, but was by an 80's band: Warrant's Cherry Pie. Oh my god, what a video.

Meatloaf Love by the Dashboard

"Paradise by the Dashboard Lights" is soooo 1970's, man! I played that album to death on my JC Penney compact stereo (turntable, 8-track & radio!) when I was in elementary school! Of course I had to wear earphones so my parents wouldn't hear the vulgar lyrics...:sweet:

Someone mentioned Springstein's "Born in the USA". I was on the Ag travel course in '85. We stayed in a international hotel (no locals, only people hard currency) where they let us bring our own music. We were too immature to realize that belting out the lyrics to everysong on that CD in the bar probably helped with the ugly American syndrome...
