my choice is wilt the stilt chamberlain. he was a very good athlete and was also an excellent track man. if he could have done the pole vault-he would have been an outstanding decathlon track athlete. a pole used for pole vaulting would snap into two pieces if he tried pole vaulting..i saw gary thompson drive by him in the iowa state -kansas game and gary thompson won the game for iowa state in 1957-58. we were visiting the iowa state game as high school seniors..
gary thompson was no slouch in the basketball arena either. he played for the famous phillips oiler basketball squad which was an AAU SQUAD.
