2011 win over OSU: Unexpected and ISU was on the front page of every national newspaper for about 16 hours.

2017 win @ OU: Basically Campbell's coming out party.

2005 win over Iowa: They were talking so much **** being #8 and we crushed them.

2000 win over Pitt: Got to see our first bowl game in in program history in person.

2018 win over WVU: Best atmosphere I can ever remember in JTS. Felt like we brought the Hilton Magic over. Juicy Wiggle at night was so cool.

9 trillion percent the WVU game last year. One of the best performances out of Cyclone football I've seen. The entire thing just felt special. It helped I was also in the building

HMs go to the @OU game, TCU 2017, OSU upset, and Steele Jantz against Iowa

In an attempt to bring up some positive news. What's everyone's favorite cyclone football memory or experience?

Top 3 currently are

1. 2017 TCU game, I know it wasn't a sell out but the tailgating / atmosphere that game was awesome.

2. Alamo Bowl Trip, the Cyclone take over at the River Walk, The pep rallys with massive crowds was awesome.I know the game wasn't the outcome we wanted but overall still a fantastic trip.

3. 2011 Oklahoma State game, just watching the fans not give up hope after going down early then on side kick was still such a crazy call. Gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

Lets blow this thread up with some positive memories!
How abut this one: Cyclones 54.....Cowboys 0. 1971..trip to the Sun Bowl. First bowl EVER!! Ya had to be there.

1. Liberty Bowl win vs Memphis. It’s still the only bowl win I’ve seen in person. It was a great atmosphere with a fan split pretty close to 50/50 in a sold out stadium. That Lazard catch in the back of the end zone was awesome.

2. 2005 game vs Iowa. The Hawks come in ranked #8 in the country, and we spank them 23-3. *** Iowa.

3. 2018 game vs WVU. Good guys dominate almost the entire game vs the 6th ranked Mountaineers.

Top 5

1. 2002 @ Iowa. I just remember hearing how we had zero chance before the game, and until 2nd half it looked about spot on. Add in the fact we held them from a possible Natty title game.

2. 2000 Insight bowl, finally getting to, and winning a bowl game.

3. 2011 OsU game single handedly imploded the BCS, forced the playoff. (At least in my opinion)

4. 2017 TCU game proved OU game wasnt a fluke, and really set the tone for the MC era.

5. 2002 Nebraska have to love spanking Nebraska

I would like to say the 17 OU game, but i honestly had zero intention on watching it, and did yard work and only caught the last 5 minutes.

In person:
-2010 Texas game - it was the first time I witnessed a road win outside of the state of Iowa; the Cyclone tailgate in Austin was going ******* berserk afterwards.

-2018 Farmageddon - The streak dies, and it takes the Vampire with it, in the most reverse-Farmageddon way possible. There were people actually throwing garlic cloves on the sidelines. There might have only been 50K in the stadium (or less) by this point, but the Mike Rose pick/fumble was as loud as I've heard JTS

-2002 Iowa - Seneca in Iowa City. Front row seats. Nothing to add, really.

-2005 Iowa - the build up to that game was as big as it had ever been, and the weekend was just a wild-ass party that roiled over into a complete curb-stomping.

-2011 OK State - duh.

TV/Radio:
-2017 TCU - just on the edge of my seat all afternoon listening to JW and Heft call it. The crowd was roaring through the speakers into my traffic cab all afternoon. JW's rant as the game ends is amazing.

-2019 Texas - I was watching the game with some buddies who are Hawk fans. I was pacing around in circles, convinced we were going to choke. Right down the Assalley.

-2009 Nebraska - duh.

-2017 Oklahoma - also, duh.

-2018 WVU - my buddy was getting married, and I had left the field for the wedding. It started raining during the reception, and we had the game on our cell phones. Once I knew we weren't picking corn, and it was clear the Clones were going to win, I started pounding beers. Great night celebrating the wedding and the game.

Toss up between 2011 OSU and 2009 Nebraska.

OSU I was a Sophomore at ISU and that was by far the best atmosphere I've ever experienced.

Nebby I was a Senior in high school, can't describe how satisfying it was walking out of that stadium with a W after watching the ugliest football game I've ever experienced.

And my wild card 2019 Texas felt so good when the kick went in after all the close ones before it fell through.

1998 @ Iowa ending the streak. I was in the band at that time. The thought of winning never even crossed our mind going into it. We were just hoping to keep it somewhat close. Paraded to the stadium prior to the stadium opening in an attempt to avoid abuse from the fans (go figure). Band director was trying to get us to play the fight song as clock ticked down to zero. As soon as it hit zero, the entire band and fans surrounding us stormed the field. It's the only time I've ever stormed the field and I was sprinting in full uniform with my instrument held over my head. No way I could afford to replace either as a college student, but didn't care. Was very satisfying after what seemed to just be a few minutes on the field to look around and see Kinnick was already empty. We were practically the first into the stadium and last to leave.

A game not mentioned yet, the Texas Tech game in 2016, 66 to 10 final. Tech had Mahommes as their QB, and we just pounded them into the turf.
You could tell on that cool November evening that the Tech players wanted nothing more than to get back on their plane and fly back to the warm weather of Texas.

I was going to post this one also. The game was played Nov 20, 1971 which was my birthday. Sun Bowl reps were in attendance and they let it be known that if we beat Okie St they would extend us an invitation. We scored and scored and just never let up. Final score was 54-0. It was great. The crowd was nuts with anticipation the whole game. Our invite was extended immediately after the game. First bowl game in ISU history. Johnny Majors had brought us to the promised land. I was there and was also at the Sun Bowl.

This is going to be games I actually attended.

1. 2011 Oklahoma State-A pretty amazing Friday night. I remember getting to Jack Trice pretty late (for me at least) and walking up and there was very little buzz or excitement. That win was the first one that made me believe that Iowa State could be good.

2. 2017 TCU-The ending to a magical month of October. I remember how fun that entire month was--starting with the crazy Oklahoma win and the underrated Texas Tech win, and ending with TCU. I remember several players saying how fun it was for them to experience their first field rush.

3. 2018 West Virginia-The start of another pretty magical October. My biggest memory of that game was Juicy Wiggle and the cell phone lights. I remember watching that whole thing start and telling my friend who was with me (who hadn't been to a game in 15 years) that we had never done anything like that and I specifically remember thinking to myself that I needed to remember that moment. The cell phone light thing will never be as cool as as it was that night.

HM-The freezing cold Kansas game. It didn't really matter, but it was a fun one to be at and a game I talk about.

Worked with the football team from 2014-2017 so was fortunate (or unfortunate for the first three years) to be on the sideline for every game. Winning down at OU was unlike anything else I've ever been a part of. Insane experience.

The Liberty Bowl that season was also a blast just in terms of the whole week and then an exciting game to finish it off

Will also never forget being in high school and a couple buddies deciding to go down to Ames for the hell of it for the OSU game in 2011. We had basketball practice at 6 am the next day and when we were down in the third, the guy that drove said we were leaving if they scored again. Luckily they didn't score again til OT!

My dad works at a construction company in Ames and Austin Flynn worked there part time that summer. For my 14th birthday he told me that we had to go pick up our season parking pass at the stadium. My dad actually worked with Austin to secretly plan a game of 7 on 7. Me and my buddies played Austin, Bret Meyer, Ryan Baum Aaron Brandt and RJ Sumrall in a game on the grass in Jack Trice Stadium.

Beat that.
