My Aunt was a nun, and a big sports fan in Chicago. She would say ”I do not care for Norte Dame”. Pretty harsh.
I love how catholics are Notre Dame fans. But not Creighton, Villanova, Marquette, Georgetown, etc fans. Just admit you are a bandwagon fan from when you're a kid

Or, maybe they just liked the Catholic school that had a football team….but your bandwagon point is well taken.

Maybe Michigan State as my mom's side of the family are mostly Spartan fans, Rooted for Illinois when they went to the basketball championship in 2007 but never had much more allegiance to them with growing up in the state. Moving to Houston after graduating from ISU hasn't exactly added to my list as Texas and A&M are pretty despicable. UH is similar to ISU in some ways but really more of a commuter school, not a big connection. Probably would have to say Rice for local options as it's a very good academic school and scenic campus, but pretty poor athletically besides baseball and some Olympic sports.

I don't understand Kurtz dislike for Iowa state. I personally don't know any kstate fan who doesn't like the cyclones. There's not many big 8 teams left that have stayed loyal to the conference.
TBH, I'm mostly joking. Occasionally he takes shots at us when KSU struggles, but any fans would do the same.
