Oklahoma State since Gundy has been there. He doesn't get enough credit at a school that was not traditionally very good.

17 straight bowls
7 10+ win seasons
3 BCS appearances, including 2 wins
Easily a top 10 coach in the country.

OSU has been a better program than Texas over the last 15 years, and gets 1/10th of the attention.

A little?
I always thought they were arrogant jerks with minimal achievement to justify the arrogance.

I usually root for underdogs. I liked Colorado State when Bradlee Van Pelt was there. The guy was such a competitor. I like Fresno State when they were riding high. And I always cheered for whatever school Mike Leach was coaching. Back in the 70s Penn State had a cache with Joe Paterno. "Football is an extracurricular - like band."

Does the credit go to Gundy or T Boone Pickens?

LSU. I'm a huge college baseball fan. Night SEC football games in Death Valley are unbelievable.

Most people here will cringe but my wife and I have grown a soft spot for KU, mostly due to private family reasons. Lawrence is a fantastic college town and the people there remind me a lot of the people I’ve met in Ames.

USC because of their stable of running backs as I grew up. Ricky Bell, Mike Garrett, Anthony Davis, OJ Simpson (pains me to type this), Charles White and Marcus Allen.

I spent a college semester living in the Twin Cities, and was born in Rochester, so probably Minnesota if I had to pick. I just don't like the Big 10 in general though, and think PJ Fleck is a prick, so don't usually care for them or cheer for them unless they're playing Iowa or Nebraska. Also like them over Wisconsin probably, if I had to pick one over the other.

North Carolina State, and actually followed Leach’s career closely, as I met him once at Capt. Tony’s Saloon in Key West.

I have one FU worse than Iowa - it would be North Dakota State.

Purdue. Toured their campus about 15 years ago and loved the school. Beautiful campus and friendly people. Martin Jischke was walking through campus talking to students & visitors. Reminded me of ISU. (And they regularly beat the other big 10 black & gold school)

Also Army. Family connection and their football team is entertaining to watch. Watching a game at Michie Stadium is on my bucket list.

This is the second NCST rep on this thread which i know isn’t a lot but really seems like a lot considering it is barley top 3 in their own state.

I could throw in a soft spot for Purdue. I had a few cousins go there about 15-20 years ago. Have family that still lives in West Lafayette. Place has always given me a very homey impression.

Top it off with the fact that they’ve given Iowa fits at times over the years.

I would go with Notre Dame, OU Arizona and Wisky. In recent years have become a Utah fan.

Notre Dame - As a Catholic grew up a ND fan and their game replay was on every Sunday am.

Arizona because I lived in Arizona right out of ISU.

Wisky because I grew up in Dubuque and live there now. I like their style of play- attacking defense and power run game.

OU because I loved watching OU run the wishbone growing up. Fun to watch a team say, we are going to run every down and you can't stop it!

Utah since Urban Meyer was their coach. Again I like their aggressive defense and offense. Great blend of speed & power.
