The defense played well enough to win. Not great, but again, they had little to no help from the offense. If our offense improves (and I fully believe it will be a better unit next year), and our defense can be similar (new corners will be the key), I think we have a shot at a great season next year.

The only positives I can see is for Rutgers... Lets go back and look at the last few teams that beat ISU in bowl games...

TCU
Boise St.
Alabama....

Chances are if you beat ISU in a bowl game you will be heading to BCS bowls in the next couple years.....

Considering the Big East is going to be filled with a bunch of crappy teams it wouldn't surprise me to see Rutgers win their conference and get the BCS bid.

I agree with the OP. I think this left a bitter taste in the mouths of our players and coaches. I don't follow players on twitter but from what I've seen retweeted, many re hugely disappointed. That is a good thing.

Flying back today.

Ugh. What a miserable game. Can't believe we played that bad.

Otherwise, had a great time. Tonics was fun. To all the RU fans, much respect to you. lol.

Got hammered at Dugout. Had a memorable night at Scores NYC.

Bring on 2012!!

Rhoads is the Man! When Josh Lenz caught a big catch for a first down and Rhoads ran down the sideline to cheer him on. What kid wouldn't want to play for him. He has the passion to get it the job done. Just wish we would have had better QB performance.

I think we will find out that Herman will thrive at OSU with great receivers to create big plays out of routine plays. I do think that Herman lacks the flexibility to be successful at a school like ISU.

Only positive I can find is that the game is over. ISU played awful, it was Missouri game level awful. I still can't wrap my head around the idea of how they possibly lost to Rutgers.

The defense didn't give up nearly 600 yards so it wasn't as bad as Missouri. They might have lost to Rutgers because they are a decent team. They are still probably the 6th best team we have played this year.

I don't know if I really agree with that. After watching ISU put up that egg in what seemed to be a disinterested performance, I can't honestly say that I would be willing to bet on Rutgers beating anyone in the B12 beyond Kansas and 2nd half of the season Tech.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm full of sour grapes and I'm just ****** because ISU lost, it's just my opinion after watching them play. With the way ISU played yesterday I think the National Institute of the Blind would have had a solid showing if they were on the field instead of Rutgers.
