I have a 4 bedroom house. 2 of my 4 bedrooms are in my basement. Ive toyed with the idea of tearing down the 4th bedroom and making it a family room. Would that increase or decrease my homes value?

I'm no expert but I'd think having that 4th bedroom would open you up to a much bigger range of homebuyers. Just depends on how long you plan to live there and what's more important to your quality of life in that time.

For entertainment purposes, make sure you have planty of options where you run your coax, speaker cable, ethernet, etc. in case you want to alter the arrangement down the road. Make sure you have the correct coax setup if you have or ever want to go to dish. There is nothing worse than finishing an area and having visible cables strung everywhere.

Make sure you think of what you might want to do down the road, not just now. Keep resale in mind! Even if you plan on living there forever, things can change.
This is exactly what we did in our recent renovation, ran Ethernet cable to the tv's - money well spent

As I said above, I am finishing my basement. Basically, I am the general contractor and am hiring everything out.

Any extras that I should do now that I will never have another chance at?

I am running gas for an outdoor firepit and to the garage.

Plenty of cable outlets and power outlets.

Anything that you missed? Or anything you did that was well worth it?

Thanks.
You should test for radon. Better to install the pipes (if needed) before refinishing your basement.

I busted up my concrete floor to completely redo my basement bathroom and add a nice shower. Definitely my most expensive COVID home improvement project!
