I was thinking about my first car purchase today and thought it would be interesting to see what other people had for their first vehicle purchased. Mine was a maroon 1992 Ford Thunderbird Coupe, man I loved that car.

1986 Ford Taurus (in 1997) poop brown, peeling paint.

My old man talked 'em down from $600 to $300 ... very embarassing experiance, they just wanted the POS off the lot

Wow. 11992, that must be sweet. JK. My first car (didn't pay for it) was a '90 Buick Centruy. Not pretty, but it worked well and was hard as heck to put a dent in it.

Here she is...a 1979 2 door Chevette or "the Vette" as I called her. It was a FREE hand me down from my sister. This baby had a 78 cu inch 4 banger and a rusted out hole in the floor in which you could throw your trash out. Had it for about a year then sold it to some lady for $300. She tried to return it 3 weeks later when it crapped out on her...no joke!

1994 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP... fun car for college, what a POS to have anything go wrong on it with... always a surcharge for that car. Engine was packed into too small of an opening so any work always had to take the whole thing out... but man it was fun!

1989 S15. It was a nice truck at the time. I wish I had pictures of it. I have pictures of almost every car since.

A black 1994 Dodge Shadow.

It spent just as much time up on racks in my garage as on the road.

My favorite experience was finding out the hard way that there were a half-dozen dime sized cracks in the head. Green smoke is really sweet looking.....

A classy 87 plymouth sundance. Registration said it was pink. Got alot of crap for that one. It was reliable enough, but it went 0-60 in 4 1/2 weeks.

First car: 66 Bug. Previous owner had replaced the bumpers with nerf bars, added a fiberglass whale tail , sunroof and chrome wheels. Engine didn't last long.

First truck: 1979 Jeep J20. Had more rust than sheet metal in the floor of the cab, but it was a beast.

I didn't buy it, but my first car was a hand-me-down 1990 Chrysler Lebaron convertable from my grandma!

1967 Chevelle. Wish I had that car now. It had a huge trunk and a nice back seat for late night activities. I suppose I must be older than everyone else here.

Actually my first vehicle when I turned 16 was a brand new 1972 Honda 350 motorcycle. Not sure how I ever talked my parents into that.
The car came 1 1/2 years later. Hard to date in the winter on a motorcycle.

I still have my Firebird from high school. And no I don't have a mullet.
