Kids in section 13 were holding their ears and crying. I felt sorry for people that brought kids for the cyclone experience but had to leave early in the 2nd quarter because the whole family was miserable. I'm gonna have to bring earplugs to games I guess.

I don't think the scoreboard is too loud but for those that do if it really ruins your experience then that's a little nitpicky.

It's been discussed a few times but the general consensus (and one I agree with) is that the volume isnt too loud but the treble is way too loud. The high end is way too high.

I'm in 13 and didn't hear any complaints, including from my 5 year old.

I asked my 3 year old daughter on the way home if she wanted to go to another game and she said "no daddy, my ears hurt." It was mostly just the music I thought was too loud. I think it definitely depends on where you sit. I sat on the west upper deck on the south side.

Apparently Jamie Pollard feels its too loud as well. This was his reply to an email I sent him:

"Thank you for your email. I agree with you on the sound and can assure you our staff will be working over the next two weeks to improve the situation prior to the next home game. Thanks again for letting me know."

I totally agree with that. High end is a little extreme.

A little extreme saying that the whole family was miserable from the scoreboard being too loud I'd say. But maybe that's what people need to take into consideration. It's not a library for little kids to go enjoy their playtime. It's supposed to be a hostile, upbeat environment for a football game.

Maybe on 3rd downs we can also get the announcer can say "Cyclone Fans, let's hear you make some noise!.... But not so much noise that the 60-year-olds and their grandchildren have to cover their ears. Let's maintain a comfortable atmosphere for fans and opposing players alike!"

Last year, I went up to the upper deck to visit some friends and the scoreboard seems about 3x louder up there than it does sitting in the lower sections. I've never had any issues with the volume where we sit but it was ear piercing in the upper deck that day.

It is too loud in the upper deck. Just fine in lower levels. Not sure what can be done to fix it but it takes away from the gameday experience in the upper deck, southern half of stadium. Maybe the speakers can be tilted or something

This is just my opinion but, it's a football game, nothing can be too loud. I want my ears ringing when I walk away from the game from both the crowd yelling and the speakers blasting.

I thought it was too loud in section C last year. Seemed okay Saturday though.

On an unrelated note, has anyone else noticed how much quieter the birds are this year? Same for the exhaust on my truck, and my MP3 player. :jimlad:

I think the scoreboard is fine... but I am sitting in the student section. The only thing is that Case-IH redzone tractor noise. **** THAT!

Where do you sit? I am assuming you dont sit on the upper duck, south and west side. I walked to the lower leve and it was fine, but up there it was totally different.

I was in the upper deck of the student section. I'm sure its much louder on the south end of the upper deck, but the north end isn't bad at all. I actually thought it could have been louder where I was at. I think it's just a case of repositioning some speakers to point them in different directions.

I couldn't believe the difference between the upper and lower decks....it is night and day different.
