Considering the KU player on the kick out missed the 3 to go ahead, I'd take the play. Also at least that way there is consistency with the no calls.

Half his foot was across the line to boot so he was only taking a 2 to tie. Watch the replay from the baseline on the CF front page.

As an objective college basketball fan I have no problem with the no call on the "charge". I think there are waaaayyyy to many charges called in the game nowadays, and I am of the opinion that in the final seconds you let the players decide the game unless it is an egregious foul (which this was not).

However, the loose ball foul on Niang was a load of horse manure. I will agree with you there. Although, would you rather have a player on the FT line with a 47 percent chance of tying the game up and forcing OT, or leave a wide open 3 to a player with a 29 percent chance of taking the lead and winning the game?

What would you consider egregious?? A punch to the face? I have never and will never understand this "let the players decide the game" garbage. To me that is code for "let's completely disregard the rules of basketball for the final 10 seconds of every game." The players decide games all the time by fouling or not fouling in the final moments, it's part of basketball.

Agreed. Niang made a great play by getting into position and taking an obvious charge. Calling that foul is letting the players decide the game.

Another missed call that is being overlooked here - Babb getting called for that loose ball foul at the end of the game. Bad call in the first place... But then they got to shoot foul shots. Thinking back to the all the discussions following the OSU game, KU did not have possession after their missed shot, so should not have gotten foul shots. Just like we didn't at the end of the OSU game.

I said the same thing that moment last night. Classic Big 12 .... cough! Kansas officiating. Such bull ****.

This is your man.....He killed us last night.
Bert Smith - College Basketball Referee

As a referee (which I am certified to do)
Everyone know in America at any level, if a player goes over the back of another player on a rebound and the ball is touched simultaneously or even last by the player with position.. The ref does not call the foul and just gives the ball tot he other team. This guy did this at least 5 times last night. But instead gave it to Kansas. then he was the guy who didn't call the charge and then called the foul on Niang.

If we were to analyze each and every call that was made during this game I am sure controversy would erupt. There is no big plan for the refs to "make" KU the winner. The truth is both teams played their heart out and KU came out ahead. Unfortunately Some Iowa fans chose to act out and behave ridiculously. Some of the posts on here are really scary and degrading to the people who made them. Ask yourself...have you ever seen a perfectly officiated game? Everyone needs to "get over it."
Have you ever seen a cluster**** of 4 or 5 terrible calls (and non-calls) all go in favor of one team in the final minute? It's absolutely incredible the amount of whining coming from fans of a team that won the **** game.
