I love how Kane took it right at him when he flopped! That's the biggest FU one can do.
Seeing Smart whine afterwards was pretty funny too. I think Smart just bought himself a reason for ISU student section to target him when Okie Lite come to Ames.

It's a crappy part of the game, but it is part of the game. You could say Hogue flopped a couple of times in the low post.

...and Hogue was called for fouls on his flops! Call it one way or the other, but at least be consistent.

The best thing about all the flopping Smart does is the attention it gets. Everyone in the league talks about it. I'm sure officials know that if they are officiating a OSU game that "Smarts a flopper". I think Kane gets called for the charge earlier in the season.

I was on a team once with a kid that tried to flop his way into fouls all the time. We finally ran into a reffing crew that got tired of it and they let him know the next one would be a technical for unsportsmanlike something or the other. Kept wishing they would do that to Smart last night.

Once a guy gets a rep as a repeated flopper it's hard to recover from. I think his acting job doesn't work with refs as much this year as it did last year. Everybody is aware of what he's doing.

Cyclone Alley needs to bring their flip flops to wave when OSU comes to Ames.

Hogue was doing it very intentionally to try to call attention to what OkSU was getting away with.
Hogue also was doing it in "normal" situations in the post. Nash was dropping his shoulder into him and so he could try to get Nash fouled out. Those tend to be called much more frequently than Smart style out flops.

NCAA should start keeping a flop to foul ratio. I wonder who would lead the league

That was actually a really smart play. Once he flops he gives up his legal guarding position and you can literally run right over him and he's responsible for the contact.

A crew I used to work on, we would call blocks if a guy flopped, even if there wasn't much contact. When his coach complained we'd say would you rather we T him up for flopping? That usually shut them up and it would invariably stop afterwards.
