Especially Thomas.....And ive seen 5 seconds of Amardi and id already rather have him in there than Percy. Ive never seen much from Percy (or his right hand) to make me think hes anything more than a 5th body on the floor. A 6'9" sofa.
Harsh but true. A big guy that doesn't pass out, can't use his right hand, limited post moves and a below average rebounder. I expected more out of him than what he displayed this season. Hopefully he puts in the work and proves us wrong.

Absolutely.....he has all the frame and ability to be pretty tough..and i hope he works hard and is dominant. But its pretty clear he has no right hand...makes it pretty easy to defend in the post.

He was pretty comparable to Gipson from KSU when they were both freshmen (Gipson probably had a little less baby fat). Percy hasn't seemed to advance like Gipson has.

Very comparable...I mean, only one letter separates them:

Gibson
Gipson

Might as well be the same player ;-)

The bolded part is correct.

Last year our offense was tailored to get as many shooters on the floor at one time. Percy didn't fit that.

Next year our offense is going to be tailored to utilize Ejim at the 3 and Niang at the 4, both of whom have mismatches over their defenders at those positions. I bet Percy will be better suited for that offense.

FWIW, I now think think will be the starting lineup at the beginning of the season:

PG: Morris
SG: Hogue
SF: Ejim
PF: Niang
C: Gibson

I have a hard time seeing Hogue starting at the 2

Ya, if anything, I know Fred says he wants Ejim at the 3 and Niang at the 4, but I could see:

1 Monte/bubu
2 Matty/SDW
3 SDW/Hogue
4 Ejim
5 Niang

Hard to keep Matty and SDW's shooting out of the line up when Fred loves his shooters. This would put 5 guys that could shoot over 30% from 3 at all 5 positions.

Based off Fred's comments.
monte/palo/naz
SDW/Thomas/bluford
Ejim/Hogue/SDW
Niang/Ejim
Amardi/Niang/Gibson

unsure about naz and Edozie.

I was as thinking edozie was going to get a red shirt

I wouldn't be against it. There is just so many new faces so it's impossible to say who has the edge and where. Fred wants Ejim at the 3 and Niang at the 4 but that is totally on the shoulders of Armadi, Edozie & Percy. One of those 3 HAVE to step up and be a solid contributor either offensively or defensively to justify it. With Hogue being a solid defensive player, I think it will be important to have him on the floor alot as well so I am betting Ejim plays the 3 and 4 equally. With that, I bet Niang plays the 4 and 5 equally limiting the true 5's minutes.
And none of that is even factoring the numerous quality guards all fighting for minutes. I am getting more and more optimistic about next season each week.

That sounds about right, IMO. I don't see us using more than 2 of the following 3 players.... Percy, Amardi, Edozie. Like you said, Niang will definitely get 10+ min at the 5 when we go with smaller lineups. Edozie seems like the odd man out, but you never know.

Edozie brings a physicality that none of the others bring. He's put together well. Can it translate to basketball at the Big 12 level is certainly a question.

I think you're totally right. It didn't work well this year because Niang, Ejim, and Clyburn were a couple steps above Booker and Gibson, but it is nice to have a big in there to start the game to defend the other teams starting big, and hopefully defray some foul trouble for Niang.

Ejim developing enough to play the 3 would be huge. I don't think he's going to thrive there next year, though.

What is the selection criteria? How the hell did Jok end up on that list when he is considered a fringe top 150 recruit at best?

Woah hold on there! I don't know which recruiting websites you loom at but Jok is a top 10 player in the country this year
