This may be a very random question that no one has an answer for but I thought I'd give it a shot.

How much money is the men's basketball team allowed to spend on meals? I always see them out together. And they are always buying at least two meals for each player (one for sit down dinner, and one to-go). Obviously the University picks up the bill. I saw them out and I estimated (underestimated) a bill approximately at $700 for one meal plus tip. Are they allowed to eat out like that every night?

If my tuition dollars are going to this I'm not going to be a happy camper. Where is this money coming from?!

No, don't worry, your tuition dollars are actually going to a tenured professor who mentally checked out from the job ten years ago.

Calling BS. If all 13 scholarship players were there that's over $50/player. Unless you saw them all at Aunt Maude's, I'm saying you're completely making **** up.

I call BS too, considering that I know the bill for the football team and coaches to go eat at hickory park (All we could eat ribs and chicken) before road games was about $2500 (when I was playing). That includes 70 players, all coaches, the trainers and mangers that were traveling, etc.

As of a few years ago, players were allotted $10/meal

They definitely were buying themselves and their girlfriends (they specifically said this, too) 20$ meals each. Plus some of them got dessert, too.

Let me rephrase what I said....

I didn't buy season tickets so their girlfriends could get a free meal.

Jesus ******, this is insanity. I'm writing a letter to Obama about this.

Edit: Interesting censorship on that one

Anything else to cry about?

I'll bet you're really ****** your taxes pay for their Pell Grants too (which don't have to be repaid). I can't believe some of them get Pell Grants and spend it on things not related in any way to their education! Bastards!

So they were out eating as a team without coaches, but with girlfriends? Where?

Did they whip out a bunch of Cyclone AmEx cards?
