Boozer is staying for his senior year at ISU. Good news.

His statement
"For all the speculation and phone calls....I am staying at Iowa state for my senior season! I am going to personally change the culture in Ames Iowa. We winning games next year me and dg gon get our magic back!"

Boozer was the one that I really thought was gettting the bad end of this deal. He always plays hard and adds the little thing we are always missing. Glad he is staying.

I love the hustle and the passion that Boozer brings to the floor. He may not be that go to player that is going to go for 18 and 10 every night, but he could still be a great leader for this team. Spread some excitement and light some fires Boozer, there were a lot of times this year where we looked like we just needed a spark, and I think Boozer can bring that.

It's good he's staying. If only he was a better player though he could maybe really help the team win games. He'll bring some "leadership" I guess to what will be a team of fresh faces. Good job keeping a player, Coach!

wait...is there a hint of positiveness in this thread...

:jimlad:Quick someone mention Mcdermott or JP or something. I think that we have impostors:jimlad:

In all seriousness...I think that we would've been a better team with him and Jamie Vanderbeken. losing them really hurt.

Colvin and Dendy are to be watched...

If either of those two leave.....you will be able to spot the mushroom cloud in Ames from Des Moines.

I hope they stay.

I don't know. A guy that only has one year left doesn't really have the option to leave unless they are just going to stop playing ball all together

This.

What else would he do other than just quit. the guy is coming off major surgery to his knee with only one year of eligibility remaining. Where is he going to get more of an opportunity than right where he is? One year of playing basketball. check. one more year to further my education. check. one more year to rehab my knee. check. all at no cost to me. check.

But, at the same time he didn't even have to come out with a statement like that. What's the point of making a statement like that unless you really care.

Boozer may not bring offensive explosiveness or break our long scoring droughts, but there is a reason McDermott frequently puts him on the toughest player to defend. He shuts guys down defensively. He is one of the few that gets in the face of those 3-point shooters that kill us every game. He hustles, and plays with passion. Not every player has to be a scorer to be a good player and help the team win.

Who is saying he doesn't care? I was just saying that I never worried about him not coming back

This is what bothers me the most about GMAC. I agree with almost everything you just said. Boozer has heart, he shows that he WANTS to play. He does have a limited skill set in comparison to other players. But he tries his best and he plays some pretty good defense. The problem is he NEVER plays. GMAC refuses to play these kind of players. Boozer was averaging 9 mins a game this year. 8 last year and 7 his freshman year. Why does GMAC leave players that actually WANT and CARE to play on the bench. At least he hustles and tries and he is never rewarded. Stick Boozer on the other teams best guard and let him frustrate them for a while. We do not need Booz to go off on the offensive end. Take a page out of Shawn Bankhead's book!
