Sure, who wants to live in a small town you grew up in where everyone fawns over you and the media treats you with kids gloves. Much better to go to a franchise that is clearly in decline so everyone in one of the largest cities in the country hates you and the media eviscerates you. No one would bother him at dinner unless they want to tell him he sucks. Sounds great.

Don't forget that Chicago is a great place to raise the kids too.

Don't worry all thread created are like that. One day you wake up look over at the thread lying next to you and wonder what happened where did it all go wrong.

This argument is annoying. If KFC offers you 25 million to come cook you don't say "well five guys is trending up right now". You take the job.

Yeah but why say no to Golden State? Think what his career would look like had he taken that job instead.

He didn't say no to Golden St, Stan Van Gundy is the one who turned them down, they never offered the job to Fred.

there wasn't an offer, but they reached out with interest and he said no to that. We won't know if they would have even offered him because he preemptively rejected it, but I'd imagine he would've been pretty high on their list.

That said, I have no bad feelings towards Fred. He's given this program more than anyone else in its history. The Minnesota job would have been better though, in my very biased opinion.

I know you are referring to the Timberwolves job, but for a second there I was thinking about his other dream job, the Minnesota Gophers.
