(O)ur extended family has the tradition that you pick in two round increments in order to try and keep the scores closer. So at this point we've just picked through the first two rounds.
Yeah, that’s pretty much it. My parents’ generation did it that way because the real reason for the pool was as a way to stay in touch because people had moved across the country (and my cousin’s and I have the same goal). So when that’s the goal, it’s more important to keep everyone engaged and repicking every two rounds helps.The first couple of bracket pools I did (many years ago) a friend who organized the pool did it that way.
I recall wanting to maximize choices for the next weekend's matchups ... you want to have at least one team alive in each quadrant (better yet, two) in the Sweet 16 and same for Final Four. Minimize "dead" brackets. (If that's how you do it - maybe your system is slightly different).
Who do you have winning your NCAA bracket? How are you doing after day 1?
I have Gonzaga over Arizona in the finals, and I'm underwhelmed. But the bracket itself is doing okay. How about you?
