I just bombarded them with ridiculous Iowa offense related stats, which I'm not sure did anything to torment them because the self-loathing was so high at that point.

We used to have a Hawk fan and a diehard Nebby fan at work, but they are both elsewhere now. Both were pretty funny and good-natured with the usual trash talk, so it was never unbearable.
For the Hawk fan, I would never say anything, which you could tell made him more irritated. One year, I would randomly switch his computer background to a screen shot of the score, but that was about it.
The Nebby fan was a different story. I would change his E-mail signature, his out-of-office reply, avatar, etc, but it was never immediately after the game. I'd wait until he was just about over it and then hit him with a reminder. Except for that 8 fumble game. That was a gift from the gods right to Cooler.
Hell, I still text him the YouTube link if I'm ever feeling blue.

As someone who works closely with folks at Iowa, it's how I feel most times.
You made me have to go back and watch that scene. I heard a commentary that Madsen had a really hard time doing that scene because of the violence. You would never know it seeing his performance.
This. My obnoxious over-the-top Hawkeye-loving friends were expecting to hear from me that it almost bothered them more that they didn't hear from me than if they would have.
Nothing this year, but one of the years iowa state got shitstomped I wore my Proud To Be One GameDay shirt the next day. Walked into the caseys in town and a tavern hok mom had all her kids in tow dressed in hok garbage. The smile on her face was wiped when she saw my shirt.
