Ehh... not sure that was the best IQ test. Many of the questions were similar--how could it test a full range of intellectual skills? Personally I think IQ tests are a bit of a false equivalency as I believe there are many different kinds of intelligence. Just because someone didn't "take a test well" =/= how sharp or clever they are.
It was fun to do anyway.

Mine had a ton to do with patterns, and several of them had to do with prime numbers. It was definitely skewed toward math and that sort of logic - no analogy questions like you'd see on the SATs or anything. IMO, the ratings were skewed toward a very particular type of intelligence. I'm definitely more verbal than math-oriented, so I think my score would have been considerably higher with with a different set of questions.

Exactly. We are all good at something. I would think that there are many ISU engineers (or similar) out there that are good with numbers, math, patterns, which this test seemed to do almost exclusively. Too much educational emphasis is placed on arbitrary measurements of "intelligence" such as standardized tests. That's a whole another thread, I suppose. Thanks for the link Angie!

Me to. A few Dr Seuss questions would have helped me out.
Congrats on the great score, Joshua! It is interesting to see where people's talents/intelligence lie. I'd like to see a test like this that ranks your aptitude in a bunch of different areas (sort of like the ACTs/SATs) and gives you individual IQ scores for each.
Perhaps you could do another Friday thread with this idea--exploring more about talents/intelligence, etc. For example, I can't unscramble words worth a darn. I could spend hours on this word: yclonesc. I also couldn't tell you the first thing about a noun or a verb--grammatical rules go over my head, yet I just "know" how to write decently.
