Thanks so much to @Entropy for this idea, spurred by Halloween!

What is/was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid or adult?

Our daughter has had a lot of costumes I've loved: RBG, a suffragist, Dottie Hinson (A League of Their Own). This year she was Napoleon Bonaparte, and it was fantastic.

Our son had a killer Batman suit one year, was a safari hunter this year, but his Knights Templar costume last year was his best.

What are yours?

Not mine, but a friends….the year Christopher Reeve fell of his horse and was paralyzed, he wore a Superman costume and was in a wheel chair. Hilariously wrong and horrible….but funny and memorable

I forgot about that!

Not exactly sure.
Was at a Halloween party in my mid 20s and this woman had a genie outfit that was a bunch of see through stuff with a skimpy bikini. I thought that was a great costume.

I did Ted Lasso this year, which was amusing since I've had a beard for 10 years. Shaving it down to a mustache was really entertaining.
Thank goodness for No Shave November, because my face is cold.

My favorite costume that a friend did was Hunter S. Thompson in college. He went all in too. The glasses, the woolen shirt, the cigarette holder, and even shaved the crown of his head to match Hunter's hair. I wish I had pictures.

Blue Man Group went over big at a company Halloween party (insert I blue myself joke here). Already bald, so I had a head start. Hard to get that blue paint out of everywhere after I got home.

For one event I put a shower curtain around a hula hoop so I was in it. Think Ralph Macchio from Karate Kid. I also painted it a golden color.

I had an astronaut costume the year of the moon landing. Everyone assumed I was a boy in the helmet

I'm kind of a bah-humbug on the whole Halloween/horror thing, but costumes are something that definitely can be fun and entertaining.

Probably my best was back in the 1980s as a young working engineer. Went to the office party as Max Headroom. A black painted cardboard box with the front cut-out in the shape of a television screen. Diagonal patterns behind and me in plastic framed sunglasses with slicked back hair.

Daughter went as Marty McFly this year. She must have pulled it off since one of her 16 year old friends shouted it out as soon as he saw her.

As my dad, wearing his WWII uniform that fit like it was tailored for me. Appropriate, was working for the U.S. Army at the time. Probably should have shaved though.

That's Mr. Hyde to my left.

I was big on doing fun costumes in my 20s, we always had rave reviews at parties and bars (most the time it was group related).

My favorite I personally did was Quaillman a couple years out of college. You either get it or you don't, but if others got it, they loved it.

Most of you won't remember the commercial - it was waaaaay before your time. There used to be a kitchen scrubbing product called Ajax, and the commercials all featured the "Ajax White Knight", who rode around on his white horse pointing his shiny lance at countertops and making them sparkle.
I was probably 9 or 10; my mother constructed a horse out of a box and fabric and yarn and ropes, which I stepped into. The box formed the body of the horse; the fabric "saddle cloth" reached to the ground to hide my legs (there were stuffed legs on the sides of the saddle painted on the box), and I had a helmet and a lance made out of foil.

I was soooo cool...
