Isn't that crazy, how there are certain sounds? Certain clicking makes me punchy, too. It isn't an ill feeling, like others get - it just makes me really angry and tense. I am sometimes a little ball of rage, I don't process a ton of other emotions. :D
I get that rage-ish feeling when I'm at a concert and some dip near me decides they're going to sing along with the performance. Not those songs that are obviously audience participation encouraged by the performer, but some soft ballad. Hey doosh, I paid $80 to hear the star sing this, not you, *****!" I don't know how many times I've wanted to punch somebody out. I know it's just their way of enjoying it but it makes me so mad. Instead of enjoying the show all I can do is hear them and think how they're ruining this concert for me.

Hearing people chew.
"Reply all" emails.
The words "hubby" and "wifey."
People who don't turn their headlights on when it's raining/gray.
People clipping their fingernails in the workplace.
People who have speakerphone/facetime conversations in public.

Just off the top of my head.

You ever run into people in public who - either with the people they're with or to the people they're talking to on the phone - seem to be almost performing for the other people around them? Like, they talk extra loud and even look up from their own conversation to make eye contact with you to make sure you're paying attention to them?

Doesn't happen often but when it does, it's so weird and off-putting.

I seem to be on a food/dining/eating theme right now.

What about the tradition of blowing out birthday candles then feeding the cake to everyone at the party?

I'm thinking, "Alright, he/she's going to blow all over the cake. And I know there are at least microscopic liquid particle from his/her mouth landing on the frosting. Do I really want to eat that now?"

I kind of base it on the action. Is it a nice dry gentle blow? Or is there obvious spittle coming out?

More often than not I'll pass. Sometimes I just eat the cake part and work around the frosting.

I just had a birthday where we had a small group but socially distanced. We did the cake and candles bit. I was like am I in a pandemic supposed to blow possible droplets all over the cake that everyone is now going to eat?

Right when the pandemic first hit and people were wearing mask, and the churches were allowed to reopen. One kid was in the church who is the candle lighter he had his mask on and was trying to blow the candles out after the service, let’s just say having a mask on and trying to blow out candles does not work. it took him several minutes to figure that one out

Oh, another one that happens where I live. There is a noticeable population of people who drive with their brights on, and don’t turn them off when other cars are approaching them. They even drive with their brights in in the evening when the sun is setting. The people here don’t know what dark is, considering that nearly every road here has a street light on it.

Around me it’s people who don’t understand that when hauling or towing a bunch that their dims become brights. I more dislike the fog light people. Those are always off and blind the other driver 90% of the time.

I hear people say they hate that phrase, but I never understood why.

Most of the times I hear it, the speaker could change their outcome by not being so lazy and accepting the results. To me it is a way to convince yourself to give up. It does not bother me when it is used halfheartedly, but I still hear it negatively.

"At the end of the day." Still makes me nuts, but a new one, that has seemed to pop up, that is taking over now, is people who always say, "That's a great question." Before answering a question.

When there are 20+ cars backed up at a left turn ligh and the ******* asshats in front don't accelerate so only 3 or 4 cars get through before the light changes. Nothing pisses me off more.
A corollary to this one is the people who pull into a turn lane and leave a car and a half buffer between them and the car in front of them when the turn lane is full. The last car in line is blocking the other lane because they can't get all the way in the turn lane. If you are doing it for safety reasons think about the fact that there is a greater chance of a high speed chain reaction pile up when that last car is stopped in a lane that has a green light.

I also hate people who meander into the turn lane as they slow down rather than fully getting into the turn lane right away. Just because you need to slow down to make your turn doesn't mean that everyone behind you should have to slow down to a crawl because you are too dumb to use the turn lane properly. Some of them never get fully in the turn lane but eventually start their turn with the ass end of their car still in the through lane.

Finally, use your damned turn signal.

Some mentioned -professional speakers, or experienced speakers/comedians that say ummmmm

Right? -I think that's dying down except for the truly lesser intelligents...

LIKE -if you "own" or are around any teenagers or young 20-somethings, try counting how many times they say "like" in a sentence -it's unbelievable. I try to listen to comedy on radio on way to work -but it's sometimes infuriating -Nikki Glaser is the worst one and she hosts a morning show -she can't say a single sentence without saying like at least 2x.

Without Question, no question, etc... Ugh. When will that be retired by every coach/announcer ever -it's the same as ummm -their slow brains just trying to think of something to say and stalling.

People who litter. Screw a fine, people should have the legal right to swing on someone intentionally littering. It’s not anyone else’s job to pick up after you, you lazy ****.

Also, people too lazy to take their cart back to the cart corral.

People who pull right up to your bumper at a stoplight and THEN continue to inch up your tailpipe as you crawl forward in an attempt to put ANY distance between you and them. This bothers me all the time, but even more so in winter with snow and ice. Someone hits them from behind, they're going to plow into me. You don't need to be 20 feet apart, but I should probably at least be able to see the hood of your vehicle in my rear view mirror. Stupid, careless drivers just suck.

Say the speed limit is 70. You are driving either at the speed somewhere in the range of 70-75 and are in the left lane about to pass a couple semis. Suddenly, the last semi gets in the left lane to pass the first semi. The semi in the right lane is going 61 and the semi in the left lane varies its speed from 60 to 62.

I've started becoming very annoyed when people end a sentence in "right".

Especially when they're explaining something new.

Drives me nuts

Is this a midwest thing? My mom will end multiple sentences on a phone call with the word "so...." and it isn't a question / asking my opinion. It used to drive me wild but I figured I should grow up a bit. Now I just smile and shake my head when she does it.
