It's been a long, long time since I went to a concert. The last concert I went to must have been in the last century, Around the late 1990s. The band was the Guess Who .... I guess. But they were without Eric Carmen and Randy Bachman, so were they really the Guess Who? Your guess is as good as mine.

I have been to some great concerts, however. My first was John Denver, who was supposed to be BJ Thomas, but he canceled. I've seen the Beach Boys, the Ides of March (I'm your vehicle, baby), Eric Clapton, The Who, Bread, Rare Earth, Elton John in his funky boots, capes and glasses stage, and Player. And I forgot Little Feat, who opened for The Who. I also forgot It's a Beautiful Day, a hippy band with a female lead singer who had one semi-hit, White Bird. They opened for the Beach Boys.

I saw Alice Cooper at Mystic Lake in April. It was my third time seeing him. Excellent show!

Who was the opener? He references him by not by their name.
Dean Delray (I had to look it up.) He was pretty funny in a laid-back sort of way. Only performed about 15 minutes, which was perfect. He's the guy you can see walking with Bill backstage as the credits roll.

Thanks. The way he referenced him in the special it seemed like it was a fairly known guy.

Honestly can't remember. Went to an east side festival in June here in town and that was pretty fun. Not a 'concert' but there was live music.

MMJ was in town last weekend but I was out.

@Angie how was Father John Misty?

Really good. I just love him, and think the jazz style of the new album lent itself well to the stage. I think he had fifteen or twenty people up there at a few points doing “Chloe” and such.

He doesn’t have a crazy style or anything, he just gets up there and sings. But it is so quirky I just loved it.

I think Of Monsters and Men was the last concert in 2019 before covid. On a good note (no pun intended) I’m going to see my first band since then tomorrow night at a bar.

Wilco last August at Water Works Amphitheater. Turtles opened for them. Great show, weather was beautiful.
I was at that show. It was great.
Going to see Wilco in CR in September.

Last show I saw was Built to Spill at Codfish Hollow last month. Great show and amazing venue.

In the U.S.? Did they meet your expectations?
Yes, all 3 in the US, in different cities. As a big fan, they have always meet my expectations. A little rust at the beginning of the tour, better as they went along. Played for 2 straight hours (19 or 20 songs) every show. Most bands don't give you that much.

Man, it's hard to remember it's been a while. I think it was GnR on their 'Not in this Lifetime' tour a few years ago, pretty recently after they got back together. Believe it or not, they were way better than in the 80's/90s when I saw them. Played for 3.5 hours straight.

We kicked around going to see Billy Joel at MSG in October, but that's probably not going to happen.
