My grandmother did a lot of embroidery and she freelanced a pillowcase for me when I was four that looked like me cuddling our dog. My mother wisely never put it on a pillow. I eventually put it in a frame.

My husband also has a watercolor done by his grandmother. She was one of his few relatives I liked. Just a desert sunset, but when his mother and her sisters were fighting over her artwork, it was one of the paintings left. Husband always liked it for its simplicity.

I was involved with the Des Moines Arts Festival for a few years and learned a lot more about art during that time. I always liked Ella Richards' pieces (they're scissor drawings), but never settled on which one to buy.

Not exactly sure.
My wife loves weird faces, the weirder the better. We have all kinds of little statues and planters, etc that have misshapen heads with missing teeth, etc. She also loves Chris Vance artwork, so we have a bunch of those on our walls (example below).

Do you ever remember this when looking in the mirror? ;).
