There was this old house across from Cap Timm Field....well it was more of a shack.

Spent some good years in that old Knappshack. Drinking Meister Brau, burning trash for heat, taking 6 years to get a degree.....

Wanted to think of something creative/cool that was ISU/Cyclone/storm related. It started off as my XBox live account name and bled over to my CF username when I joined in 2009. When I joined the twitter-verse I changed my online alias to @TheDudeofAmes . If I were to join CF again that would be the name I would use now.

I like the cyclones

I'm the guy that always spikes the punch bowl at dances and parties and such

At the time I created my account I had done it 33 times. My more accurate name now should be cyclonespiker82

I thought this could be an interesting concept. What's the story behind your screen name or how you decided to choose it? I know some will be more interesting than others (mine is boring).

As for mine the "CloneFan" part is pretty explanatory. I'm a big Vikings fan as well. Back when I joined CF, Brett Favre had just joined the Vikings and Austen Arnaud was our QB at the time as well. That makes up the "4" portion.

My screen name was Lafester Rhoades nickname during his short time on the ISU track team amongst teammates.

Back in 2001 when the original Xbox was coming out, I joined the Xbox official magazine forum with this name. The fever comes from the game NFL Fever 2002 which is the reason I joined to find out more about the game. The name is ironic now since I only use my Xbox One for Netflix or renting a movie. It's rare that I ever use it for a game. The only game I have for it is NBA 2k.

I came up with mine on a whim, although I've never been crazy about it. Tried to think of something that had CY in it and for some reason the Def Leppard song "Are You Excitable" popped into my head. So I shortened it to ruxCYtable and went with it. I think it's kind of dumb though.

I always picture Ruxin or Rux from the league, and thats where I stop on at your username.

I have always read your screen name as rux - Cy - table and it made no sense to me. I'm an idiot.

For my name, Enhanded Fujita is the scale they use for the power of a tornado. Thought it was appropriate for a screen name on a Cyclone message board.

Me too. Truth is, I will probably STILL read it that way as it's stuck in my head now. ;)

I used "Cyclones" followed by the first number it would accept. I can't remember my first choices, but it would've been generic regardless. Which is strange, since I think nomenclature is fascinating and (sometimes) important.

My screen name suggests my sports passions are Iowa State sports and Indy 500. Half-right.

I'd like to think if I could rename myself, it'd be far more creative, but it'd probably still be generic or I would try too hard. Maybe both.

I'm lazy - just copied & pasted from the original thread. :)

It started as CycloneKC on the original DM Register message boards. When they changed formats, CycloneKC was "already taken", so it changed to KCClone, which many of the users read as KCCI one (it's KC Clone). They then assumed I worked for channel 8.

When the Register changed to Facebook logins I migrated to the ESPN boards, where I was still able to use KCClone. When ESPN changed to FB logins, I moved here, but unsuccessfully tried about twenty combinations to get close to KCClone. Finally threw up my hands & said dammit, I'm just KC Clone. Left the dammit part off, and there you have it. :)
