Battletoads is my answer. As a kid I couldn’t get past the turbo tunnel, but I picked it up as an adult and can now beat the game with no cheats or warps. It is such a fun game and the level variety keeps it from getting boring.

The Resident Evil 2 remake is probably my favorite modern game.

Many, many late night drunkin' NHL 95 tournaments with friends. One night I got so pissed I couldn't score on Ed Belfour (Chicago) on 40+ shots and lost 1-0, I went outside and punched a tree.
Hurt your hand much?

Not enough love for the first 3 halo games on here.

First game I ever remember inspiring absolute awe was Zelda: Ocarina of time, only matched by Skyrim later on.

The new Baulders Gate 3 is a masterwork of a game though

This is soo hard.

PC would be tie, CC: Red Alert. Or Unreal Tournament (with LAN parties).
We did that at work in the late 90s. Doom and Descent.

No better feeling than hearing your coworker curse and panic in the next office after you popped off a Mega Missle at him from a dark corner.

I'll expand on this post later, but here is my personal Top 5 of all-time (I'm also a collector, and own over 3300 video games and so many consoles):

1. Super Metroid (Super Famicom)
2. P.N. 03 (GameCube)
3. Virtua Fighter 2 (Saturn/Arcade)
4. Doom (every PC/Console/Machine in the Universe, but I am partial to the PSX and 32X versions. Jaguar version is awesome as well).
5. Three way tie: Phantasy Star (Master System)/Parasite Eve (PSX)/Cyberpunk 2077 (PC/Orbis/Durango/Gonzalo/Anaconda/Lockhart).

Where do I even BEGIN with Cyberpunk?! The single greatest game I have ever played. I waited 8 1/2 LONG years for it (I still remember EXACTLY where I was when it first announced on Thursday, May 26, 2012), and sweet Jesus God it was everything I had hoped for, and more.

The game literally changed my life, got me to quit smoking, drinking (for a short time. I've shared the story publicly on here about my drinking issues), and really truly made me just think about my life in general.

Have you ever had a video game change your life?

The game literally had me depressed for over a month after seeing all the endings on my first playthrough. But I was depressed "in a good way", as I kept reevaluating my life choices up to that point, and wanting to do things to make my life better (though I do still struggle with the drinking part).

This is my Shrine to Cyberpunk 2077. Well, temporary Shrine as I had to pack it all up when I replaced the carpet in my house, and have not since rebuilt it (with even MORE Merch not pictured, and more on the way):

Oh and, let me get this out of the way now, the reason I have so many versions of the game (besides the 3 Collector's Editions of course) is because roughly a year after launch, Target and Best Buy had it on sale for $10, and I bought two copies each of the "Ultimate Edition" as for the first month it was a Best Buy exclusive, and I thought it was going to have a limited print run.

I STILL haven't played Phantom Liberty. I've started it, but haven't finished it. Simply because once I beat it, there will nothing new for me to experience in the game. Every major patch added new content for me to look forward to. After Phantom Liberty, I have nothing to look forward until Orion comes out (minus print media of course with books, graphic novels, board games, etc).

I've been able to avoid spoilers extremely well since it launched in September 2023, but the things I have heard about the storyline, I don't think I am mentally prepared for what's in store.

The base game's plot had me an emotional WRECK for weeks afterwards completing my first playthrough, and I've heard it's a day at the beach compared to what happens with Phantom Liberty's storyline.

Not exactly sure.
As a rule, I don't really do "my favorite" of anything, because why limit yourself? With that said, a list of my favorite video games would include the XCOM series, Witcher 3, and Sleeping Dogs. I'd also include the Borderlands and Diablo series as well as Ghost Recon Wildlands, which are a blast with a good group of people.

I play games with my son online sometimes, and the most hilarious part about it is me screwing everything up repeatedly (he's a lot better than me, as you would expect). We played Streets of Rogue a few times, and I'd inevitable blow up a wall or start a melee at the wrong time and get us both killed lol.

I don’t play a lot of games, so I am not great at them - but I am way better at being a blunt object than stealthy! Janny thought at one point that I would be a good partner in some of the Tom Clancy spy games, and he could not have been more wrong!

My actual favorite game, and the one at which I am the best, is Dr Mario on NES. I can play for hours on one play. It really has driven the family nuts the few times when we are at an arcade and I don’t want to leave until I am done. (I was also okay at 1942.)
