Can we not do this, please? This sounds a lot like "we didn't want him anyway" when we miss on a recruit, only worse.
Let's not throw any fellow Cyclone under the bus. Besides, there is no basis of fact here. Whatsoever. It's your opinion and opinions like this should remain to yourself. IMO, of course.
Totally agree! I don't understand people's hatred of Dekkers at all. He's a very talented QB, with a confident demeanor (which you HAVE to have btw).
He had a somewhat rough first year, but how many college QB's do? A lot. And he had no OL whatsoever, and a horrible OC too IMO.
If this stuff about the gambling is true, yes it was a very dumb thing to do. But if every single dumb thing I did in college was broadcast all over the media.... there would be a LOT worse things than gambling... that's for sure!

I would lump what I have seen with Dekkers on the field with a Jay Cutler and Jeff George who were talented QBs with lasers for arms, with a confident demeanor as well, but also, major divas. As of now, Dekkers is just the college version of what they were in the pros.
Message boards are for opinions. That’s basically their only purpose.
And you personally know Dekkers, right? I sure hope so, otherwise you have nothing you can point to that shows he's a 'diva'. And to rip on someone after basically 1 year playing QB in college is pretty dumb. You'd look pretty bad if he ended up being one of the best ISU QB's ever, right?
And if Dekkers is indeed the caliber of Cutler and George... I'll take it. That would make him the best ISU QB ever by far. It's too early to tell on Purdy right now, but odds are that he will not have the career that Cutler and George had in the NFL.
Perhaps it's just the way the relationships work with some but he seemed to argue with teammates and get a bit prickly when approached coming off the field a few times.
Lol. He’s not the caliber of George or Cutler, but has characteristics of them. Not the good ones.
You think I care if I look bad on a message board? Not even remotely. Literally do not care at all how people perceive my message board persona.
And Purdy has accomplished more than either did did in the postseason. That’s all that matters in the NFL. Just ask Dan Marino. Maybe the best passer of all time, not even on the radar as the GOAT.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I'm kind of the opposite. I do care how others think of me. It probably leads to more anxiety than I care to admit. I tend to be overly sensitive, also. But I'm comfortable with it. I realize at my age it's hard to change.
Generally I don't like hurting others, no matter who it is. ISU QB's included.

Yep, rule #1 - ignore the hype and wait for on the field results. I know the hype sells tickets, merch, subscriptions, etc but it almost always ends in massive disappointment for the most hyped.
To each his own. People are going to perceive others differently, thats just a fact regardless of what their interactions may be. There are people who I think are total d-bags but I have friends who know the same people and think they're swell guys. Doesn't mean I dislike my friends any more or less but we just see and perceive other people differently. Thats just how it goes.
