Start hydrating early folks. As of now, the forecast for the first game looks like a warm one with a high of 84 and 67% humidity.

Iowa game was way worse than that last year. Hopefully its breezy or partly cloudy at least. Full sun and no wind is the worst.

Can't imagine a tailgate - or an opening game - more unpleasant than UNI in 2013. Kickoff temp was 92, the highest in ISU history (at the time, I don't know if that's been beaten), and it was a 7:00 kickoff. And then of course a quite forgettable game followed.

That was also the year of the Kansas game, the lowest temp at kickoff in ISU history (8 degrees).

Between the weather, getting our asses kicked, TJ's awkward speech, and sitting in the middle of a section with a bunch of Iowa fans, that day was arguably top 5 worst in my life

The left side of my body/face will need sunscreen.
I'm sure you will be fine...

That one was really hot. UNI 2015, I think, was also really hot. I think the hottest game at JTS may have been Oklahoma in 2016 or 2018. Can't remember which one.

Looks like you're both right. The temperature got up to 90 degrees for both the 2018 Oklahoma game and the 2021 Iowa game. I remember both games, and they were brutal (especially because we lost both of them).

The average Des Moines temperature for Sept 3 is 80.7 degrees, so the forecast for this Saturday calls for only slightly warmer temps.

I think it was 2018 and that one was terrible. Partially because I don’t think we thought it would be terrible.

The concourse looked like a refugee camp during that game. People were laying on that gross cement all over.

I’d take the Kansas weather over the uni weather 10 times out of 10.

We had 102 out in the lots at the peak of that day.

The 2018 home opener (SDSU) was absolutely disgusting weather prior to that storm system piling up. It was like 96 with really high humidity.

84 sounds about spot on. Last year's UNI game really snuck up on me when the predicted high was like 75 and I wore jeans and a long sleeve T. I got really hot in the stands. On Saturday it's t shirt and shorts.
