Interesting use of the TEs today. They weren’t targeted much and we mostly played single TE sets until the 2nd half when Rus and Klotz were in together for run blocking. Basically 2 H Backs used most often on the same side.

Against Iowa I hope we play 1 TE or no TEs much of the time. We won’t beat them with a physical game in the box. Need to spread them out with 4 WR sets. Dekkers seems to have the vision and arm strength to leverage it.

I’d trade those WR screen plays for more multiple TE

I mean it makes sense, the last few years we’ve had a few great TE’s and a great QB who didn’t have a strong arm. Now we have a great arm at QB and TE currently isn’t a position of strength.

That guy was a freaking loose cannon but Kids these days just don’t understand how Jantz absolutely made Iowa his b*tch those two glorious Saturdays.
I’ve only stormed the field once. It’s was the triple OT game. I Apparently got too close to CPR(I didn’t even realize he was next to me at first) and a police officer tried pushing me down, and seconds later I got to touch the Cy-Hawk trophy before it later broke during that storm. I think it was the weird one year trophy before the current one.

He was sick in that triple OT win, especially the 4th quarter and OTs. Maybe my favorite game ever in Jack Trice.

Didn't see any of the game and only heard to very end. Can someone comment on the pass defense? It seems like they gave up a lot of yard today. I am assuming we had a lot of subs in there at points of the game.
Our pass D was sh*t. When Qb was not passing for completions, he was running past would be sacks for 20 yd gains. For what ever reasons, passes in 2nd half not thrown as accurate or were being dropped. Failed early TD on 4th down was a momentum breaker for SEMO. We DID step up on D in 2nd half when it became critical.

We don’t care about facts when #&@$ting on Purdy these days. JFC, I just get get the hate.
I don’t think any Cyclone fan hates Purdy. I have a black Purdy jersey. I love Brock, but I’m not going to lie to myself/others and say he has a great arm. We lost to Iowa during the Purdy era because we played their game and they were better at it. We played that style because that’s the type of QB Purdy was, our RB’s, and TE’s. Hunter has a bigger arm, and our WR’s are better then our TE’s now. That’s how you beat Iowa.

You must have missed the last 6 years. This was a typical Matt Campbell first game defense. Also, next week with an immobile qb, the team should be able to get more consistent pressure.

I counted 5. Total gain maybe ~~5 yds. Two were VERY close to being backward throws (fumbles). Horrible play calls.
Felt a little bad for Jaylin Noel today. It seemed like we were trying to get him in space, but SEMO was anticipating it almost every time. Hopefully we can draw up better ways to use him vs. Iowa. We'll need everyone at their best against that defense.

I was very satisfied with today’s win and Iowa’s struggles, but still don’t feel confident about next week.
I’m with you. I’m more confident than I thought was possible, but I still feel like it’s a 50/50 game and our track record speaks for itself.

You put things on tape for other teams to prepare for, especially when you play a significantly lesser opponent. They might run this again later in the year, but don't be surprised if you see the same action and instead of a screen it’s a wheel route or something similar.
