Good luck against the Hoks next Saturday. Always fun to have your team be part of Game Day.

I said I was going to follow ISU this year and I am. 'Grats on winning your opener.

Really happy that we are off to what seems like a normal football season too. Hope it stays that way for the course.

My Ducks really limped out of the gate against Fresno State and I'm bracing to watch them be non-consensually sexualized in The Shoe next weekend.

So, if there's room on the ISU bandwagon I wouldn't mind having a seat please.

Go Cyclones! Go Ducks!

I said this 2 years ago but the best person for this job would be Dan McCarney and I don't give a damn if he's not a big enough "celebrity" he set the wheels in motion with this program that we'd ever see a day we'd have Game Day come to Ames let alone twice in 3 years. He played and coached at Iowa then coached at Iowa State and broke the 15 game losing streak against Iowa and turned this game into a rivalry again instead of an annual beat down by the Hawks.

He at the very least needs a segment of his own this time. ESPN will likely bring in some completely random celeb again with no ties to either school I bet.

I like Oregon, but I have to admit I put some coin on Fresno moneyline on Saturday. Fresno had the better QB in the game and when you can get the best QB at +850 it is worth throwing some light money on. I think everyone here will be pulling for you guys Saturday.

At least Fresno State has a quarterback.

Oregon has the dreaded "athlete who can throw rather than a quarterback who can run" situation.

Guest picker will be Allan Jackson who is at Wells Fargo arena that night and had the hit “Where were you when the world stopped turning?” after the 9/11 attack. It will be their way of still pulling in a 9/11 presence.

Niang will be a segment as he will be in Ames on Friday for autographs at Fareway Meat Market but he will not be guest picker.

My two cents
His wife is an ISU alum too

Any chance the Athletic Department bites the bullet and does a lot opening the night before? Opening at 5 AM still had Highway 30 backed up for a mile.

Can we somehow give somebody like Bill Murray an “Honorary Degree” of some kind so he has an ISU tie and comes to do the picks? That would be epic.
He has an aunt, I think it is (don't even know if she's still living, actually) in the Quad Cities - Illinois side, but close enough for a Bill Murray tie-in.

Kinda did that to themselves. Shough wasn’t perfect last season, but he was by far the better quarterback. But because the coaching staff tried to **** around so much and be cute by rotating the two constantly, they ran him off.

Anyway, welcome back, babe, missed you. I wouldn’t be too down about the Fresno game, I think they’re going to be a pretty tough out this season. Hawaii is my second team, so I kind of follow those schools, and I think Fresno is going to win their Division in the MWC.

Nothing for me to be excited. I think ESPN brings bad luck to Ames and ISU. They are that useless.

Hawks complaining about all-black uniforms is about the dumbest **** I’ve ever seen. You’re right Hawks, NO ONE does all-black uniforms if they don’t already have it as a primary school color.

It’s about the dumbest, most narcissistic, and self-obsessed thing to assume that ISU requested black alternates as a way to be JUST like Iowa! ISU’s commits, who hail from all over the country, tried to attract the attention of Kirk Ferentz and the University of Iowa, failed, and then decided to go to their back-up where they could dress up JUST LIKE A HAWKEYE.

I have Iowa friends who think anything black and gold is taken from or inspired by the Hawkeyes. One of my good friends said with a straight face: "The Steelers look like the Hawks." They are the most bizarrely arrogant fanbase in the country.

Hmm. Oregon football is fun. I absolutely don't like Ohio State.
Let's party!
