The worst of it still stayed well south of Ames. Could have been a lot worse.Damn storm needs to be about 10 miles south. Just going to clip Ames with a good shower this morning.

Obviously rain for tailgating and the game would suck, but do any of the weather experts on here know what we're in for all this coming week? Forecast is for rain every day all the way to next weekend. Football is just entertainment, but massive flooding destroys lives.
This weather has sure been strange. Normally by the end of August my yard is brown and there's no rain in sight. Instead, it feels like I live in the jungle.
I saw by Monday morning we could have close to 3 inches. I think the bulk of the rain comes Sunday?
I've been checking the NWS reports at the Ames airport, figuring it is quite close to JTS. It shows rain the past hour every hour, 3 hrs, and 6 hrs. Shows 0.59" as of 7:53am, since it started around 6am.
Let's hope it stops, dries out some, and then doesn't get drowned out tonight...

I bet we hear from JP today that the grass lots will be closed. Stinks, but it would sure be a mess on JP's hands if all those vehicles got stuck and had to be towed out of there one by one.
The forecast for tomorrow evening seems to be constantly changing. What do the weather guys on here think about the chance of rain during gametime? How do the models look?
So it may rain or it may not rain....It's tricky because it all comes down to where this front stalls out at, and then just a bunch of little ripples moving through that touch off each of these rounds of storms for the next 5 days or so. It's not just one, large system to track.
Right now we're cautiously optimistic that the front will be far enough south that the game should be mostly ok, maybe a few showers, but the main round of Saturday night storms not reaching this far north until more into the midnight and later time frame.
This isn't a 100% guarantee though, there is a sizable chance that there could be bigger issues, but at the moment, I'm inclined to lean more south. @wxman1 is right though. NAM is bad news.
