games on CBS

Doesn't CBS Have a contract with the Big 10 and SEC?

They do for the conference tournaments but I think it is different than football for the regular season. They showed Texas @ KU and then will show KU @ Missouri they also have some PAC 10, ACC games and will show BYU and San Diego St. Most of their games are Big Ten/SEC though.

ummm...correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that what you WANT from a commentator? would you prefer someone who downplays the action then I take it? I like ones that get excited other than just treating every game they do as just another game they happen to be calling.

Sure but each guy has to have their own signature sayings and such nowadays. I'll take a normal game being broadcast as a normal game rather than trying to make every game into the Championship game. Just give me the game, the momentum and action of the game should amplify how its being broadcast. Not their agenda's to get themselves and their catch phrases to be household names. Johnsons presentaion seems entirely manufactured, but thats the norm anymore. To me the personality in a broadcast should come from the color guy, the play by play guys can stick the facts.

IIRC, CBS covered our home game with Missouri in 2001 when Tinsley was a Sr and we were working on our second straight Big XII regular season title.

Only regular season game I can recall CBS covering.

Does ISU ever get a chance to play on CBS

Since 1988, other than NCAA Tournament games...

Feb. 17, 2001 vs. Kansas - #7 ISU 79, #6 KU 71 (Sullivan and Power hit a bunch of threes. Chenowith stated that those guys had no business playing D-1 ball.)

Feb. 28, 1999 vs. Kansas - ISU 52, Kansas 50 (Fizer dunk sealed the deal.)

Feb. 9, 1997 vs. Kansas - #1 Kansas 69, #6 ISU 62 (Willoughby scored 36, including 9 threes.)

March 10, 1996 vs. Kansas (Big Eight Tournament final; Kansas City) - #23 ISU 56, #5 Kansas 55

Jan. 21, 1996 vs. Missouri - ISU 73, Missouri 62 (Willoughby with 27; Kelly Thames led MU with 20.)
