Oh we're having a good one. About 7,000 showed up for the ACU game. We saw CAL take UNC to woodshed as well. They have a post player who is projected to go in the top 10 WNBA draft. She was impressive. I think we have the toughest #8 seed in the bracket. If we get by CAL I suppose our next opponent will be SC or FLST.

Texas lost. That's always welcome news around here. Sounds like Tennessee may be getting ready to show Holly the door. That's about 4 years over due
Other than that our corn is about 4 inches high. How bout yall's?

The attendance listed for our game last night was 6500, which seems about right. Had guessed 7500, but I always forget they don't have the arena circle seating on the south side of the court available for NCAA tournament games and GA tickets for the balcony kept people spread apart a little more than if they'd been reserved seats. But still, a really great and vocal crowd.

I saw that TOE had 10,700 for their near-loss to Mercer. Must have been a "buy one, get 5 free" promotion. Go Tigers.

But seeing that many fans in Hilton for a game in March made me think of the good old days when we held 1st and 2nd round tournament attendance records. 13,600 for St. Francis (PA) and 13,400 for Illinois in 2000 (which have long since been broken, but still incredible numbers for a program that was one of the absolute worst in the nation just six years earlier...).

Kind of weird that the 2nd round games in this state are Missouri at Iowa and Missouri State at Iowa State.

Hawks group of four included 2 Mizzou and Drake which aren't far away. Going to say those fansbases helped their attendance.

I would agree with that.

Sad to see Frau Bluder advance to her second Sweet 16 in thirty D-1 seasons. I thought Mizzou had them under their thumb in the first half until Gustafson went on a scoring spree in the middle of the 2nd. Oh, well. I don't see NC State putting up much of a fight, but I hope I'm wrong.

There was an adorable moment at the game where I saw a parent who got a picture of Cy with their baby who was a baby cy outfit.
The baby Cy was sitting one row down from us...wife was wistfully stating that she wished she had done that with our kids when they were babies. Yeah, not happening now unless it is a grandkid.

Should be a good crowd tonight...it will be interesting to see how Missouri State begins the game. I would think that they are going to give their 3-point shooters free reign to fire away.

Ruffridge had her best game of season against DePaul. Her high school team was thorn in my high school alma mater's side and now she has a chance to be a thorn in my college alma mater's side.

Cheered hard for Ellie against DePaul. She's an Iowa kid and was a great HS player here. If she was 5-10" she would be at an Iowa school, preferably Iowa State. MS took a chance on her and she is doing a great job for them.

Oh yeah, when she is in we better guard her. Saw a piece on IPTV a few weeks ago about her. Showed her in the HS gym shooting 3's. Took 1000 shots. Made 825. ICYMI.

She's averaging around 3 points a game over two years. Not really thinking she is going to go off to beat us just because she had a career game the other night.

I'm glad she's having fun. We had a long thread about her two years ago.

https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/wbb-recruiting-question.227063/#post-5602522

Her minutes and production have been increasing late in the season. CBF flat told her she was too short. He was probably right, but we currently have several who are barely taller than her, and have a tiny fraction of her impact. She is very dangerous from quite deep.

If it's OK to wish for two things, mine would be that she has a great game, and we win going away.

If the team underestimates her like you just by going off her career stats they could be in trouble.

I'm on Sling so I'm sure they've screwed up the location. Trying through WatchESPN if I can remember my password.
