I found the following website helpful when properly disposing of large electronics before:

Thank you for being responsible. Recyclers can reuse some of the rare earth elements in our old electronics and it is crucial to keep these items out of our water supply.

Put it on the street and post a FREE TODAY ONLY sign. Someone with a pickup working in the neighborhood will take it.

Definitely give Best Buy a call.

They will take just about any used electronics.

I replaced the PCB board in my washer and they took the old one even though I did not buy it from them.

Does anyone know where these can be taken? can i use big item tags and have the garbage man haul them away? Does Best Buy still take them?

thanks!
For hard to dispose of items like this, one option is to go to local grocery store and place the item in a shopping cart in one of the racks in the parking lot. The store will likely have more resources to dispose of it than you would.

Put it on the curb with a sign that says "TV - $10. Pay at door"

In today's world it'll be gone before you get back in the house :twitcy:
