Was McDermott coaching UNI tonight? I felt like I was watching Iowa State tonight. Hang with the opponent, then can't score down the stretch and lose. Also missed free throws and rebounds. And out coached too, normal game.

haha....that post was inevitable I suppose.

Although we would've lost by 15+ to MSU.

I guess Jacobson's a bad coach as well.

Amazing analysis. A #9 seed hung with MState untill the last 2 minutes, but Jake got outcoached. Have you watched many basketball games before or is this a new hobby for you?

I honestly don't believe that he does. He's got a huge buyout and a nice contract. It doesn't really matter whether he wins on not, he's still going to get paid. Prime recruiting time and an assistant hire that needs to be made, yet he's down in StL rooting on the Pantherz. To me, that's ridiculous.

It is every coaches goal to lose and get fired. WTF. So the guy cannot have a personal life? He has to devote every min of every day to ISU? I bet there are a few coaches in SL, maybe he will talk to a few when he is in town. Maybe instead of being on this message board you should be at work to improve your company. Maybe go out and find some new people to work under you.

Are you at work right now?

They took down the #1 overall seed, seeds don't mean **** right now. They also led by 7 at the half and then gave up a huge run to start the 2nd half, where have I seen that before?? Read my post again, I'm ripping McDermott, not Jacobson. Izzo>Jacobson>McDermott

OK, I have a few points on this....

1. I was at the UNI pep rally today and while I was there, McDermott was just standing around talking to people. He was wearing Iowa State clothes and wasn't standing around cheering for UNI.

2. Jacobson is his best friend and I'm pretty sure he's said they are like brothers. When your best friend has the biggest night of his career, you would want to be there for him. That's pretty obvious and if some simple minded McDermott haters see it different, I'm not sure what I can say.

3. St. Louis was treated kind of like a reunion for a lot of UNI basketball players. A lot of the 1990 team was in town as well as Eldon Miller. McDermott probably played with some of the guys on the 1990 team and I am guessing some guys from when McDermott was the coach at UNI were in town too. I know we are supposed to think that everyone hates him, but I'm guessing some former players wanted to see their coach.

4. I think the 6 hours on a Friday night that he spent attending a basketball game probably didn't kill our recruiting. I am postive he was on the road last night and might be again tomorrow.

We really need to get a life.

I like how half the people on this site want you to sit back and be happy with the state of this program, don't complain...no we don't want to do that...we might see a change. But why would we want that, I enjoy being a fan of the worst basketball team in the Big 12.

Really, half the people haven't complained? Seriously, step into the real world. He was supporting his buddy and alma mater. To ridicule him for that is completely out of line. Besides that how do you know he didn't get there today and fly right back out to start recruiting or better yet that he was not recruiting down there. You are so wrapped up in bashing the guy for anything and everything he does you fail to see a lot of the reality and fail to realize that he probably wants to win too. You act as if he doesn't want to win. I can assure you that is not the case. Most of your posts are a complete and utter joke. Basically they are made up of the same few components: Bash Mac, Bash people who aren't attacking him, and last but not least accuse anyone who is not attacking every single move of being happy where we are.

Yaman, he was referencing KG's post which had the usual 'get on board the Mac train' message, not the fact that Greg was there.

Like someone said earlier, winning cures all. If we were just coming off a couple 20-ish winning seasons, or even win a couple B12 tourney games in his tenure, this whole thing is a non event. As it is we've absolutely sucked the last 4 years and we are looking for anything possible to ***** about with this guy.

just waiting for UNINOT4Cy to come on and blame GMac on UNI's loss tonight. Seems par for his posts lately.

You do realize that after making the Sweet 16 there were a number of posters on this site giving credit to McDermott for UNI's success...right? Logically, if he was responsible for that then he is to blame for the loss last night...right?

Oh, that's right, McDermott never gets the blame when things go wrong and gets all the credit when things go right...excuse me for forgetting that dynamic relative to GM.
