I really, really hope we end up in the west bracket with Gonzaga.

That will end any talk of St. Mary's getting an at-large bid. As if we needed any further proof, because even a win wouldn't have gotten SMC into serious conversation.

WCC is a one-bid league, barring an auto-bid steal, which isn't going to happen.

Gonzaga knows they can take nights off and still win. They have the talent to be a #1 seed, but probably don't "deserve" one and it has to be tough to get ready for a deep run when your conference does not challenge you most nights m

If you look at who they've played and who they have beaten, Gonzaga has earned its ranking.

Sounds easier than you think. Cough cough South Carolina, cough cough Texas Tech.

You're joking right? I looked, and no they haven't.

If you're going to disagree, who should we rank above them. There only loss is on the road at Arizona, in overtime. A subjective argument can easily be made for a few teams behind them like Duke and Wisconsin for sure. Thats about it though. Typical ISU fans who want all the respect when we get good, but can't reciprocate respect to other deserving programs.

Rrrrrrroooooooooffflll

Best win vs. #19, only 7 total wins against the Top 100, and they are a 1 seed? Outrageous. These wins are not that impressive.

19, 40, 41, 42, 49, 56, 91

ISU has 7 wins against the top 34.

1, 24, 26, 26, 28, 38, 34, 58, 68, 79

I agree with this. They are more likely to lose in NCAA tourny because of this.

However, Gonzaga is a number 1 seed because they have built a program that is enduring.
Gonzaga has 3 active players (4 if you count Turiaf) in the NBA. This does carry weight with voters. Even St Mary has 2. ISU has 0.

Sagarin numbers:
Zags are 0-1 against Top 25, 4-1 against Top 50

Teams with MORE than 4 wins against Top50:
Miami 5-5
LSU 5-3
Indiana 6-8
St Johns 5-6
Purdue 7-5
OK St 5-7
Providence 6-5
And a whole lot more teams that are actually good.

Zaga is not a bad team at all. But they sure as hell do not deserve to be ranked #3. And my limited eye test last night didn't look like it either. They are not on the same continent as Duke, Kentucky, Wisky, etc.
