This is what scares the hell out of me.
Now I've never loved MacD, but I was one of the ones that was trying to be rational saying "we have to give him about 3 years, so it's his program". Well we've past that mark and we now know this is all he has.
Really sucks that we are looking at a SOLID half decade of ****** basketball.

Ummm...if we fire him after this year we'll start over even more. Not only will we lose our most experienced players but we'll lose our coach and our system which is never a good thing.

EDIT: P.S. and learn how to spell dude it's embarrasing.

And that would be the other thing that scares me...........

What do you think's going to happen anyway.
Brackins is going pro, and Gilstrap only gets one year anyway.
We're starting all over next year no matter who the coach is.
If Mcdermott can't get it done this year, he's rebuilding again next year, no matter what.
What a disaster he's been.

A new coach doesn't fix everything. Look at Iowa, they fired Alford got Lickliter (who is one of the great basketball genii of our time :jimlad:) and then they start to lose to teams like UTSA. It would just be a bad deal...

GM must go. So must JP. Or else, JP may end up calling Ben Jacobsen.

If this continues......I am willing to take that risk. Because with what I am seeing....it doesn't matter how experienced the players are with this coach and this system.

Maybe, just maybe guys like Jake Sullivan were right when they hinted that GM's system would not work at ISU.

So how long are you willing to watch the nonsense that we've seen for the last four years.
When do you see Mcdermott finally figuring it out?

Half the people on this board are 13 years old so dont mind the spelling but this season was so hyped..and coach mac knew this.. 6-3.. is ridiculous.. I'd take an 8-1 like it should be. Although even then we'd complain about something.

So you are saying that McD maybe the wrong guy, but we can't trust JP to hire someone better?

This is great. Exactly what "system" will we be learning? The offensive one that we currently have were our offense consists of 4 guys standing around watching the ball, that is never in a good flow and gets shut down vs. good teams, or our defensive system which consists of getting beat off the dribble and ALWAYS getting out hustled? Personally, I would be fine seeing the coach and his system gone.

Under that rationale...We should have kept Lynn Nance and never hired Johnny Orr...Who would you rather have Orr or Nance who was just like McDud, hellsbells Lynn Nance even lost to Omaha U when they were like well division 3!!!!

Let me tell ya Boys....Things arent gonna get any better under McDud, did you actually see the game last nite? Our Clones were completely "OUTCLASSED"!!!!!

my vote:....McDud's gotta Go!!!....For Crying Out Loud....Hire a Real Basketball Coach and stop losing games against Valley teams and the second tier teams of the big 12!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right. 6-3 hurts, because I and we expected better. These guys just have to get back to the teamwork that was going on before Chicago, and this team will do a lot of damage.

And I guess to begin with I thought this whole fire coach mac was ridiculous. Except..if he can't succeed with this team.. will he ever?

I have a feeling that everything will be better when we destroy Iowa.

Destroying Iowa makes a lot of things better.

That's tough, because they play verrrrry hard. If we can match/exceed that intensity, and show some teamwork, then we kill them. But they will make that killing very difficult, like the victims that survive on Criminal Minds.
