Maybe I should wait to do this in a couple weeks, but I was curious as to what everyone would grade the season we had so far. I will put some general guidelines in the poll, but you can grade the season as you wish.

B. We looked like a complete dumpster fire to start the year and improved week by week. We don't have the guys to compete with the top teams in conference but with the guys we have coming in and a little improvement maybe we'll have a chance for 6 wins next year.

I wanted a bowl game of course but after seeing what we actually had during the UNI game and Iowa game i was just praying for 1 win at least. I remember threads about going 0-12 and we ended up going 3-9. I went with a B but it's more like a B-. I wasn't happy with the season, but it was definitely an improvement over what I think it was going to be after the first 3 games. Hard to blame the staff on anything with the last regime failing to develop a lot of players and getting complete busts for recruits.

I'd have gone with B if we could have competed for four quarters today. As it is, C.

Don't expect to beat a team like WVU right now, but disappointed it became such a laugher.

B/C.

I think I was hopeful for 4-5 wins, which were attainable. Didn't think it would be such a mess the first two games, but wasn't sure they'd come out and play as well as they did for a lot of games after that.

Props for making such a make-shift Oline serviceable, and it's encouraging that the plan is to simply get the ball to the playmakers and let them move in space.

I think less than 6 wins next season would be a disappointment.

If the staff adds a couple more of the big recruit targets and keeps the rest of the class, they are way ahead of where I thought we would be

C or D.

Some really good things. Some really bad things. I was very disappointed the coaches appeared to have not seen a football game when coaching the UNI game. I was very disappointed that the same mistakes happened today.

I think you deserve to lose a full letter grade for the assanine decision not to use lanning.

Right where I thought they'd be but the recruiting has been phenomenal and that 66-10 game was huge because a ceiling was broken through in terms of offensive output capability.

I'm going with a C, the 1st two games really disappointed me, but there were signs of improvement for most of the season.

Since C is the team performed how I thought they would, I can't choose that. I expected at least 4 wins. UNI, San Jose State, Kansas, and 1 more should definitely be attainable. Leading for most of Baylor & Okie State is nice, but doesn't mean squat when it's all said & done. D from me, and anything less than 6 wins next year will be a failure.

I'm going B-. I like what I saw from some of the guys that were brought in last year which tells me this staff can see talent. I can't say that all of the in game coaching was as solid as I would have hoped, but everyone is adjusting to a new system and surroundings. My biggest concern is that this year was the weakest Big 12 that ISU may ever play in. That's a tad bit disconcerting. Outside of WVU, Iowa, and OU, ISU didn't play a legit top 25 type team. WVU is at its peak which is good. Baylor seems to be trending down. KSU will eventually return to mediocrity at best. However, Texas will return with Mensa. OU will always be good. TCU will some day be healthy, and Kansas is trending up (although their ceiling is low).

So some things the optimists can point to for the future and some things the realists can worry about. Just find me 6 wins a year with the rare 8 win season, and I'll be happy.

These threads are always just a way to weed out any of your former professors...

Based on lenient grading - we're all good here.

I think I predicted 4-8. Think we probably could've gotten there if we didn't lose the all the possible returners that we did, but it was probably for the best they did end up leaving.

I have total faith that this staff has things moving the right direction but I think there were times this year they were flat out, out coached. There is almost no p5 coaching experience on this staff, its natural to expect some ups and downs when facing a much tougher set of coaches week in, week out. Don't get me wrong, the talent difference they went to bat with most weeks meant they had to almost be perfect to be competitive but I think they definitely had moments where they looked a bit overwhelmed, especially the first month or so of the season.

All in all, I think we saw some things to be positive about on the field and off the field, this staff absolutely killed it. They exceeded my expectations.
