I'm going to see Damien Rice and Iron and Wine at Red Rocks in August.

Any travel tips from those of you who have been there? I'm wondering if it's better to stay in Denver or if there are decent places to stay in Morrison.

I would love to see Chicago this Thursday night in CR but it isn't going to work out.

Went to see Dave Matthews Band on Friday night. Phenomenal, as always. But they played a full 4 hours with no opening band. The first two hours was an amplified acoustic set, and the last two the full light show and electrified experience.

Too lazy to google, but where did you see him? I heard he has a Des Moines Gig. I want tickets!!! I will do some wierd stuff to get DMB tickets to Des Moines.
Do people realize how awesome he is? I am at an age where I can turn on young people who are being brainwashed by Katie Perry and Kanye to true talent that is pure and inspired, and it is a joy to watch the epiphany. F&^% pop music....I watched Billboard awards last night just to scout the enemy....what a bunch of ****. Simple Minds was actually the high point of the night.
carry on.

Breweries and nightlife stay in Denver. Mountains with comfort stay in evergreen. Really enjoy a true mountain experience camp

Boulder to Red Rocks is a nice scenic, easy drive down 93 via West Golden about 30-40 minutes if you want to do something different than Denver. I've done it many a time.

Just got a pair of 3rd row tickets for Roger McGuinn - who will be performing at the Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids on Saturday July 25th.

One of the performers I've always wanted to see in person but never have. His touring and personal appearances are seemingly quite random.

His web site has this tour schedule:

Two shows in New England in Early June.
Then 3 shows in Japan in Early July
--- Then the Cedar Rapids show (7/25) ---
Then an August show in Great Neck NY
Then 6 or 8 shows also in August in Hawaii
Then nothing until next winter/spring in Jacksonville FL

How lucky he's coming around here. I'm excited for the show!

They're going to be great live! You already get/plan on getting the 2 day pass? I haven't yet and I'm pretty torn on whether or not I will. I've got nothing against the main stage bands by any means but the schedule just isn't ideal for me. St Lucia will be at the same time as Rome Fortune and Fly Golden Eagle and there's no way I'm missing FGE. Jenny Lewis and Wilco would be good enough but I could be just as happy catching Talib Kweli for free.

Saturday is where things get really tricky for me. Jon Wayne and The Pain would be a hell of a show but I'm very intrigued by The Kickback. Lettuce and Run the Jewels also solid but Natural Child, Brazilian 2wins (saw them at Charlie Yoke's once and HIGHLY recommend) Annalibera, and The Orwells will be equally as good if not better and they're free! The only regret I think I would have is if I missed Weezer because I didn't want to spend the money. Decisions decisions.
