The Hoiberg dunk over Acie Earl will always be my #1. I was a middle school aged Iowa State fan in Eastern Iowa in the 90's. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. So that dunk meant so much more and if you know, you know.

For some reason it's never on the best dunk videos. Clark dunked one at Wells Fargo arena that was an ally oop and it looked like it was way to high. He went up and got it and dunked it. It was amazing. There might be some copyright stuff with it or something. I was at the game and we were like "how the hell did he just jump that high". My favorites were the Wiggington dunk, The Fizer over Mims, Grayer dunk and Royce first play of the sweet 16 he just drives down and dunks it.

The Grayer dunks at Michigan State (0:58) and vs Kansas in Kemper (right after the MSU dunk in this video) are the most purely impressive dunks that I can recall. Honorable mention to Wigginton at Oklahoma. The Burton lob vs WVU in the B12 final is in the conversation.
I was at the game In KC and it seemed like the place went silent in disbelief after it happened. It was amazing

I knew my answer before watching the video...

It was not powerful or flashy or game changing. It was the Matt Thomas dunk at the end of the game against Kansas. (10:40 in the video) Just a giant middle finger to Kansas when the shooting guard dunks on you.

I think people remember how Royce was dominating while in Iowa State because all his off court things. He was a beast and looked like men separates the boys.

The 2 Jeff Grayer dunks are the best in the bunch and anyone that says otherwise is wrong.
At minimum, both are top 5 candidates. A little nostalgia enters the discussion from my perspective, but dang those are sweet.

Makes me wonder how many other outstanding Grayer dunks have been lost to video-footage history.

What was probably most impressive about the Grayer footage is the commentary. The announcer says that Grayer dunks for his 30th point just matter of factly. ISU had 52 at that point - Grayer had 30 and the rest of team had 22 combined and it was nothing out of the ordinary - just another day at the office. Jeff Grayer was such a special player.

I remember the Meyer dunk. I believe that was the game when it was over where he sat on the basket. I was an usher on the floor back in the day.
