I think one has to classify by era. Early 90s definitely goes to Nirvana.

Bye, Bye, Bye - 'N Sync. No other song in this or any generation truly captured true emotion and passion in the musical verse. Truly the folks responsible for such a masterpiece can see beyond just the music, but into the soul of a man and then take that into the speakers of the world. :jimlad:

The greatest rock song of all time probably comes down between: "Satisfaction" by the Stones, "Stairway" by Zeppelin, or "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry.

Some of my favorites:
"Wild Horses" by the Stones
"Free Falling" Tom Petty
"You Can't Always Get What You Want" Stones
"Alive" Pearl Jam

Let It Bleed--The Stones

HI OOOOOOOO

Great, great, GREAT tune. Probably not popular/influential enough to call "the greatest". To me there is a difference between my personal favorite tunes, and the ones that are generally considered the "greatest".

Throwing "Free Bird" by Skynyrd into the mix, too...

Sorry, as much as I love Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc. the best rock song has to be something from the Beatles. Don't care which one...just pick one.

Obviously, even THIS isn't the greatest song in the world, it's just a tribute...

Especially since it's not even their best song. That is probably "Jesus Ranch."

Um... let's see. It's really hard to narrow this down, because there are so many criteria. Here are a few: "My Generation" or "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who. "Cocaine" by Clapton. "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin. "Revolution" by the Beatles. "Lithium" by Nirvana. "Wild Horses" by the Stones. "Nicotine & Gravy" by Beck. "Life on Mars" by David Bowie. "Down by the River" by Neil Young. "Hanky Panky" by Tommy James & the Shondells.
