We'll play our game and they will have to adjust. They have more athleticism than anyone in the country so they are better equipped to defend anyone or anything in theory. To say we cannot execute against athletic teams is not true we beat both Baylor and KU. It will be a huge test for us as UK is an excellent team and they will be ready. Calipari is a scumbag but a very good Coach. They will not overlook us.

Royce has played point forward all year long and Kenny Smith acts as if he just started this tonight. I hate listening to clueless guys like this analyze games.

UConn knew that they had to stop Royce tonight, and on Iowa State's first possession, Royce dribbles the length of the court and dunks over two UConn guys. Ooops... I guess that didn't work out so well for them did it?

It's one thing knowing you need to stop Royce, and it's another thing to do it.

Actually I hope Royce comes out on Saturday, and has double digit assists, and our 3 point shooters go crazy. We can beat people in a lot of ways Kenny!

You guys need to realize that no one is going expect us to do anything against Kentucky. They are number 1 for a reason. They have a metric **** ton of talent and they have amazing chemistry.

How does Fred gameplan for the unibrow? Does Gibson paint a line accross his forehead in practice Friday so the players aren't shocked when they see it up close for the first time?

Also, love how everyone talks about how dysfunctional the Huskies were all year...doesn't mask the fact that every media outlet STILL PICKED THEM TO WIN.

Good thing we are on the inch-pound system here in the US of A.

I don't see what the outrage is all about. Royce is a damn good player, but Jones is a lottery pick. Nobody in their right mind would give ISU a realistic shot against Kentucky. That doesn't mean ISU is guaranteed to lose. But only a fool would look at this matchup and think Kentucky isn't rightfully the heavy favorite.

ISU is going to need Allen and Scotty to just go nuts from behind the arc, because Davis will own the inside all game. Royce and Co. is going to have a VERY difficult time matching up in the paint.

If Vandy/Indiana can beat Kentucky, nothing is impossible. I give us a 20% chance.

Pretty sure that was Kenny Smith. Greg Anthony had nothing but good things to say
Yes it was. the OP is the only idiot in this thread. kenny smith has always been stupid and he is almost as bad at play-by-play calling as larry cotlar is.
i think the only reason they had him on tonight is because saint pattys day is on saturday :jimlad:

I was also told that we cannot beat UConn without hitting a bunch of threes, because evidently we could not go inside on them. Ended up beating the hell out of them in the paint.

Off topic a bit, but was anybody listening to the radio broadcast when they were talking about Royce having the free throws figured out?

Was hilarious. One of the guys said Royce told him that during the Baylor game. Then, before the game was over, Royce came over & gave him a little, "told ya"!!

They both won those games on their home floors. Vandy has one of the toughest venues in the SEC (the layout really seems to throw teams off), and Indiana has one of the toughest venues in the nation when it's at its best.

But I never said it was impossible. Just that it's not all that realistic to believe ISU will win. I understand you guys feel you have a better chance than the experts are giving you; that's what fans do, and I'm just as guilty when it comes to the Hawks. I personally give ISU a 10-15% chance. But that still makes Kentucky the heavy favorite.

I was also told that we cannot beat UConn without hitting a bunch of threes, because evidently we could not go inside on them. Ended up beating the hell out of them in the paint.

I have difficulty believing that many people held that belief, outside of the sect of Iowa fans who desperately want to see ISU fail (as well as UCONN fans). UCONN has been a dysfunctional team all year, and aren't the most physical team out there (regardless of their size). Drummond ain't Anthony Davis.

I will freely admit that I am not in my right mind. I see this game as completely winnable. We're not intimidated by big-name programs or big-name players or big-time coaches or big-time moments.

They're a heavy favorite, but we have a lot going for us in this thing. Since it's Kool-Aid time, I believe that we're going to do it. And then we're not done.
