Right now Haliburton's body style reminds me of Ron Virgil. The body style of his running mate, Talent Horton Tucker, reminds me of Kantrail Horton! Two pretty good players!
What a player! To me, he is a skinny magic johnson. Fabulous passer and big smile. Funky shot that I now expect to go in every time.
I am just blown away by these freshman. THT - nuff said. Conditt - great surprise to me too. Kid has a knack for blocking shots, great anticipation and timing. Runs well. Has things to work on, but he will be a very good player sooner than I expected.
Zion seems to be improving. Has the most to do to round out his game. Injuriesmay have set him back,
BTW - how about Lewis. I do not mind admitting when I am wrong. A month ago I thought he should transfer. Credit the kid for sticking to it and working on all aspects of his game. Offense - not just jacking threes anymore, but he is starting to hit the ones he takes. Not yet a defense stopper, but much improved and you can tell he is working on it. As his passing and ball handling improve appears to me he will be quite a player.

How great is Heft. He is genuinely excited somebody broke his record. The guys is an ISU stalwart and I feel like none of us give him the love he deserves.

Heft was thrilled for Haliburton. He also said the record stood too long considering the string of amazing point guards that have come through ISU.

Heft also admitted he has a man crush on Haliburton. Loves his game.

I think it will be interesting to see what the +/- is when TH is on the floor with LW compared to when NWB is on the floor with LW. I think they are both good but the future is TH, but NWB has earned his chance also.

I have no idea how the minutes will be distributed when all are back. But they are all fun to watch when the defense intensity is on.

The national media has picked up discussion on Tyrese over the last week. SI NBA draft writer Jeremy Woo is really high on both Tyrese and THT.

TH reminds me a bit like Steve Urkel of "Family Matters" fame..."Did I do that?" Great young man.

Fun fact, Urkel's cousin played basketball at Iowa State for a couple years.

A couple of fun stats:
One of the more surprising things to me is that Halliburton has made the most 3s on the team - he's tied with THT, even though he's shot 16 fewer).

Halliburton is also shooting 83% (15 of 18) on 2 point shots which is crazy. He's been amazing finishing around the rim.

And I noticed this from George Conditt:

He has 17 rebounds, 17 blocks, 17 fouls ... and 16 points scored.

Honestly, tyrese should shoot more.

Because some sectors of our great fanbase still think it's odd we can have great things without some negativity attached to it somehow.

Agree, many posters ignore the positives of the team and focus only on the negative. Perhaps they think doing so will make them seem more knowledgeable, as if they know something others don't, despite evidence to the contrary. They actually end up doing the opposite.

It is like Monté and Naz had a baby and it got the best of both.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Wow, didn't realize Gary Thompkins had that many high assist games. Never developed a decent jump shot though, we'd leave him open during noon league games in the old gym. Sad to hear about his heart attack a couple of years ago.

Will be sick seeing him and Wigginton running together. Hell yeah!

Their games should complement each other well. Haliburton puts more stress on a defense than NWB and should be able to loosen things ups for Wigginton, who doesn't need much of an angle to get to the rim. If Wigginton is content to let the game come to him, he can score a ton of points with the way this team passes.

Hines just seems like a dude that deep down just doesn't want to cover Iowa State sports anymore. Every other comment is a novel combination of jaded and smug.
I think he'll be smug wherever he ends up. He's talented, and may be a great guy, but he's certainly smug.
