Agreed, and he had a couple good defensive stops in the second half.

But that was Bob's worst game of the season and Shoon's best game.

The other thing about Bob's positioning is that I think it leads to a lot of turnovers caused by other players.

And I think his Oklahoma game was better than his Baylor game.

They were both stinkers. Bob has got to stop trying to make moves when he touches the ball. He needs to get the ball out of his hands as quickly as possible unless he has perfect position for an easy bucket. Also, our guards have to move without the ball when Bob has it because it seems as if they stand and watch him "go to work".

When Rob is struggling like last night, it would be nice to give a few minutes to Ward.

You have to remember he arrived late. I anticipate he'll have a bigger role next year.
Next year? Admittedly, I'm confused. An ISU roster site I viewed said he was a Senior. So is it possible he has a 'covid' year to come back? I didn't even realize Robert was already a senior, too. And if anyone cares to kindly remind us just who 'can' come back, it would be appreciated. Even tho its probably been posted numerous times elsewhere. SIA

BREAKING: Rotations shrink during conference season. Get your best guys as many minutes as possible. Every minute counts in this conference.

Yeah......THANKFULLY we have a bench of folks we want to play/can play...but still only so many minutes and need to do what is best based on the team we are playing, situational stuff, etc.

Bob did pass out a couple times against Oklahoma. I think he was a 100% black hole against Baylor, so I'd say a slight improvement.

But, he's not in there for offense. He's in there for defense.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he has one more year left of eligibility

Ward's length, and ability to disrupt will be an asset for us this year at some point, and I hope next year too.

I'm a little surprised he didn't get some run, as Bobby was a mess offensively last night, but Osun was pretty darn good and not in foul trouble.

What in the last two years surprises you that the coaching staff is more worried about defense than offense? Have they ever shown an inclination to prioritize offense over defense?

I get your point, though, that it is a reasonable idea to try it, I just wouldn't be surprised that this coaching staff didn't.

I think their point was that Bob was almost unplayable last night so they were surprised Ward didn't get some tick. Either way, if Osun plays well enough and stays out of foul trouble he'll be playing the majority of those minutes and we'll need him to do that to stay in the top half of the conference.

Hassan takes one step forward (steal on the in bounds against Baylor, then throws it away for a Baylor bucket, then we had all the momentum on a run and he doesnt block his guy out and gets his guy gets an easy put back which was a killer at that time, TJ plays who he trust and like it or not he trust Rob more...

They've clearly got a "core" six who are going to play 25-35 minutes per night --

Lipsey
Grill
Holmes
Kunc (once healthy)
Osunniyi
+Kalscheur (starting for now, sixth man playing starter-like minutes with Kunc back)

These two are always going to get minutes but more like 15-20 per night --

T. King
Jones

Ward and Watson might make a few cameo appearances, but this is Big 12 and what always happens when coaches shorten their rotations once the games count more. It's just the math.

28 minutes * 6 = 168
16 minutes * 2 = 32
= 200 minutes

And that's all the minutes out there.

The CF Scholarship Chart shows that Caleb, Hasan, and Tre are all seniors with a covid year possible. It also shows Jaz, Gabe, Jaren, Osun as seniors who do not have another year possible. And, the chart has incorrectly classified Bob as a Jr. Bob is a senior, but he does have a covid year possible.

His defense was good. This coaching staff cares about defense. I'm surprised about how many times people bring up the fact that someone was unplayable offensively.

How many times last year was Gabe unplayable offensively, but still played a ton because of his defense?

My guess is he's a little behind as far as defensive scheme goes, there wasn't any foul trouble that required it and the players that were playing were playing well. Matchups maybe came into play. Was OU basically 4 guards most of the game?
We won so I'm not being critical but his efficiency numbers are ridiculous. 4 steals per 40 minutes is elite.
