I'm happy for Hassel and I think he'll do well there, but I wonder if he might have happen to him kind of the same thing that happened to Andy Fales. When Fales went down to KC several years ago, he found that he wasn't happy with the job there because he had no outlet for his creativity. Up here in DSM, he could do almost anything he wanted on Sound Off. Down in KC, he was stuck just basically reading a teleprompter for sports casts and writing the s.cripts for Len Dawson to come on and read. There was nowhere to put the comedic and creative work.

I fear the same thing for Hassel. I mean, look what Zubin Mehente is stuck doing. He just sits there on ESPNEWS and reads highlights. Sure, the money will be much better, but the suits at ESPN aren't going to let Hassel do the type of stuff he does here.

Guy's got a lot of talent; I can't say I'm surprised. Good for him

I am surely in the minority but I may throw a party on his last day. Another comedian want-to-be on WHO. He can't be "funny" without being crude. He'll fit in just fine on ESPN....all hat, no cattle.

Yeah, Murph & Andy were discussing this on KXNO yesterday. Sounds like Andy has had several other offers recently, including one he was seriously considering. He decided that he was here to stay, signed a new contract with WHO, and is no longer entertaining offers. He and Murph realize they have it made here- moderate market size but the freedom to do real news, sports talk radio, and of course Soundoff.

Chris will definitely have to put in his time on ESPN News, maybe eventually he'll get to do something like Mayne Street, or participate in Sportscenter commercials. No question he won't be able to do a fraction of the stuff he does here though.

I disagree completely. I do not find a lot of the sound-off stuff appealing, but he is more talented than he is funny. He is a natural on the mic- I think he would make a good PBP guy.

Hawk fans will be happy to see him go. Gosh did they ever give him a lot of material to work with this year!
