I don't think any young HC is going to come here. We're going to either need to find a Coordinator or a redemption story.

Agreed. The facilities have improved dramatically. We are in a P5 conference and have great fan support. Someone will come.
They're just kind of going by the old mantra of "you don't take a demotion" that is so common in life.
The AAC to the BigXII is not a demotion. People have lost all sense of perspective.
That's quite the broad brush there. I doubt JP can just knock on a coach like Justin Fuentes' door and the coach is like..."oh B12 I don't even care what team I coach in the AAC or what school you're from in the B12 but AAC<B12 so sign me up."
If the B12 were the solar system, we're Pluto. Waaaayyyyyyy out there and recently demoted to planetary object status.
Well by all means, put it in to perspective for me. Tell me how we aren't that far away from teams like TTU and OK St., tell me that if KSU can do it, then so can we. Tell me that if only 100 things last night would have been different we would have won the game.
I say it all the time but we need to hit ROCK BOTTOM. Some already have, but some haven't. I think the perspective that people lack is how bad we have been for the past three years, and how three years is now a decade compared to the mid 2000's when 3 years was 3 years. How kids don't want to come here because it's not fun or exciting or cool to win 1 or 2 games every year because that is all they know because like I said 3 years is a decade in CFB now.
Coaches are the same breed, they look at this job and what do you think they see? A south end zone bowl? Well shucks that's really nice, every other school has had one of those for years though. A weight room? Gee golly, it's just like the one that UNI has except the colors are different. A strong fanbase? Too bad talent doesn't give a rip about fans of some school they've never heard of.
Basically all I'm saying is everyone needs to lower their expectations from Hermann and Fuentes level or they're gonna have a bad time.
CPR's choice of offense has been his most fatal flaw.
Hiring Herman was never going to make that offense best for ISU.
Herman and Fuente are not coming here. Those guys are future super stars and can pick whatever job opening they want. ISU had their chance at those guys last December before they completely exploded, but instead JP decided to keep his best friend. ISU needs to find the next coach that will explode in the next year like Wells at Utah State or whoever
If we were to strike out on Herman or Fuentes, it wouldn't be because we can't get a good coach that wants to be at ISU. It's because they are some of the hottest names in CFB and more prestigious programs will have openings. We have to keep rolling the dice on coaches until magic strikes. That's an expensive habit, but if we want to be a Big 12 football program, we need to get lucky. That's sad.
