A "fridge" will last a while. (My LG is 12)
A fridge with a TV, whiskey glass ice cubes, a door inside of a door may not last as long.
I have a 1950's refrigerator that I keep my beer in. Still running fine.

Whirlpool fridge. About 12 years old. Rattling up top where the air comes in inside. Not down by the coils or compressor. Water is shut off to it for about a month due to connection that went bad and leaked on the floor. Yes I know it’s probably time for a new fridge but I’d like to fix it if I can. Rattling isn’t loud, more subtle off and on.
Is the rattle 24/7 or only when the compressor is operating?

DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES>>>>>>EVERRRRRRRRRR

They are like the good looking chick at the dance, only to find out they're rotten inside.
Not just that, getting parts right now is very difficult with the supply chain problems. Until that gets squared away, people should stick with whirlpool, GE, and Kitchen Aid for all new fridge purchases.

Pretty much 247. It goes on and off about every 5 to 10 seconds. I don’t think it has anything to do with the compressor.

More on the note of your leak, somehow a hose on the back of mine got a hole in it a few months back and every time it was filling the ice, or we used the water filter it would spray water on the wall. Bought some new hose, and two connectors for about $5 total.

The connectors were so simple, cut a section of the old hose off, cut a similar size off from the new, and the connectors literally just push in and locks in place.

Than most likely evaporator fan. Ice build up, bad fan motor, or broken fan blade.

Ice build up: Improper defrosting, low refrigerant, plugged drain line.

Could try defrosting and see if rattle goes away but that's probably not going to solve the root problem.
