It was funny to read the message board thread:
OUR SEASON IS OVER WITH

March 2, 2013 2:25 pm

We're getting blown out in Norman. We will not win another game this season. This team has no talent.

This is why I avoid CF during all games and after losses for a while.

Just like last year...everyone was looking forward to a UConn/Kentucky matchup in the second round....like we were invisible in the first round.

Yup, just the way we like. Let ND mentally start looking ahead to Ohio State instead focusing on us.

**** Vitale went as far as saying that "UCONN will advance easily". It just goes to show you that these guys don't know jack ****. They see the name on the front of the jersey and that is it.

This works both ways a little. Although we are the 10 seed, some Cyclone fans think we will win no matter what and think every analyst in the country should be praising us in the first (second) round matchup without having seen a ND game all season long.

It's not all woe is us people. Whomever was running the screen last night on the selection show, that had the brackets. That guy was picking his winners. Granted, we were only the 5th game he gotten to, but he picked us over Notre Dame. It was the first upset he picked as well and he had plenty of nice things to say about us.

I jsut wanted to point that out as it seems these threads deteriorate pretty quickly on how everyone hates us. In the end, you have to remember, no one knows how these games are going to turn out. So in the end, I'm sure most are picking the teams they've seen more often. And honestly, the way we've shot the last 2 games we've played, I'm having a hard time picking us over ND. The only edge ISU is getting right now, is that I am a fan.

More CBS Stupidity:

My office is doing our pool through CBS' site. For each match up, you can click on a little info icon to get some background on the match up and each team, here's what it says about ISU:

Iowa St.Cyclones
Iowa State is making back-to-back NCAA appearances for the first time since the mid-1990's, back when coach Fred Hoiberg was a star Cyclones player. ISU will be trying to better its Round of 32 exit a year ago, and Utah transfer and swingman Will Clyburn (15.0 ppg, 7.1 rpg) will help to fuel that effort along with guard Korie Lucious (9.9 ppg, 5.7 apg), who played in two Final Fours with Michigan State

Ummmmm, weren't we back to back #2 seeds in 2000 & 2001?

They asked Dana Altman if being a 12 seed was a slight and he said not really.
You got to win what's in front of you and for seeds in the 6 through 12 spots, they're really close in quality.

ESPN must have some Hok fans in the production room that are a little mad about not making the tournament.

Possibly, I look at this stuff and laugh because it means that they don't know who the Hawkeyes are either. If they think Iowa State is the Hawkeyes, this is as much a slam on Iowa as it is ISU.
